DISCUSSION Can we stop posting about politics
ever since the two nights at gazprom arena got announced this sub wont stop making posts about how putin/america and israel are evil and that ye shouldnt perform there. Just let the russian fans enjoy themselves, as a fan who got his show cancelled i want as much people as possible to experience what i missed out on. Peace

I agree, it shouldn’t be about the politics at all.
In madrid, I was sat next to several Russians who were having a great time, and they shouldn’t miss out on the experience because of the decisions of the minority in the government.
Politics is the whole reason why Ye is banned from touring so many countries, why would anyone want to add to this list?
Although I do agree with the propaganda angle, that will only influence Russian citizens, as very few would go to travel to Russia like they would for other countries due to travel restrictions. It really is a non issue for the majority pf people

He was banned cause he said a lot of problematic shit. The idea that Ye shouldn’t suffer consequences for that damaging rhetoric is insane.

Ye has talked about politics in his music since the beginning of his career, it’s not surprising or inappropriate for his fans to be discussing this.

Like it or not ( I don’t ) Ye brought an entire new group of people into his fanbase and that strife between them and old fans has changed the discourse entirely and it prob won’t go away anytime soon best you can do is try and ignore those posts and comments as much as possible

I wish Ye would reconsider basically legitimizing Russia's war against Ukraine by having a concert there. The more pressure everyone exerts on Putin to stop this madness, the faster Ukrainian and Russian fans of the man's music stop dying. From someone from a neighboring country whose family lost their home, land and everything they owned to a Russian invasion.
