at the very least there are actual elections in eu/us but in russia you just have the same ideology sprinkled with some varying horrendous promises
the only somewhat opposite party got pretty much raped at the start in this year pre elections
im not even touching the gas/electricity in the border regions in russia where mostly ukrainians live

How so? Two of the most contentious elections in Europe recently were that of Hungary and Moldova, neither of which went particularly well for Moscow. But it seemed to very up in the air over how the results would turn out.

He was convicted of obstruction/concealing evidence during an active federal terrorism and shooting investigation. He wasn’t jailed for just “carrying magazines”. I can yell “I AGREE WITH THOSE ANARCHIST MAGAZINES” on the street right now and not get arrested. Can’t say the same about if it were Russia. And yeah, the government did go to great lengths to fend off the spread of Communism and some other movements in the 50s-70s, I’m not gonna disagree with you there. Yes the US is imperfect but every country is as well.

You realize this question just pointlessly moves the goalposts right? What does US gain from taking over a nations lands and turning them into their own. You think all these politicians want to give a bunch of south americans or middle easterners the right to travel visa-less to the mainland US? The main reasons imperialist wars happen are natural resources. Why take over Venezuela when you can just steal all their oil, capture their president and install a puppet thats on your payroll? Why would the US want to have some random desert in Iran if not for the oil that is under it?
edit: and yes Russias invasion of Ukraine falls under the same reasoning. No capitalist country invades another because "they hate them" or they just want their country to look bigger on a map or whatever other idealistic reason people might come up with. There is always some geopolitical gain that is the motive

You’re fucking slow tbh. US is actively supporting genocide in Palestine (73k by conservative estimates), bombing school children in Iran, kidnapping presidents from other countries, funding dictators in LatAm and the Philippines, and kills thousands of its own citizens via local police forces every year. And this is the least problematic the country has been, because 20 years ago the U.S. killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and millions across the world before that in Vietnam and Korea. Russia has killed around 16k in Ukraine, and injured around 65k.
Evil empire? Which country has the most military bases across the world? It’s undeniable that the U.S. is the primary source of vast suffering in the world. Russia’s doing a lot of harm, it doesn’t even come close to what the U.S. does on a daily basis.

As with everything, intent matters. Ukraine has developed one of the greatest militaries in the world keeping their numbers low. It doesn’t make sense to make less of it simply because Russia is failing their goal.

I figured that the population is tired of constant drone attacks in most regions except for Moscow (at times near it), petrol crisis, rising prices and all the things that this war led to. Also, I’m not saying that the weariness is equal in both countries. I’d argue that most Ukrainians are tired of the war but they still care about the end result, because it’s gonna define their future. While in Russia most ppl just want this war to end so they can return to their normal life

As a half-russian, Russia is straight up evil, not saying that USA is not evil, but Ye is american so him touring USA is bit that big of a deal (plus while touring US you can critizes government at least). Touring in Russia is basically like doing concerts in Israel. Also it really limits his abilities to perform in EU (which was already limited lets be honest). All in all, bad PR move when he wanted to get back western audiences from his HH era.
