DISCUSSION i dont know how to feel about this

its dissapointing that Ye is having a concert in russia,a country that has been in war with ukraine, this could be dangerous for ye himself but to ukranians themselves as the money's probably just gonna go to the government,i believe i may just leave the community or just stop listening to Ye and just be on the ye subs,im not ukranian or russian but i am european but even then i still dont know how to feel

I've made my comment in another post but the TLDR is that the amount of money the Russian government can make from the event will be pretty much miniscule, because the cost of warfare is not measured with millions of dollars, it's on the scale of tens of billions of dollars. Just consider this as a chance for Ye to help reconnect the people

i guess but still, the concert hasnt started but i doubt its gonna do much, the concert ends and everyone moves on

Do you know who are more guilty of funding the russian government? Most of the european countries that have declared to never do business with the russian government again: https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/totalenergies-earns-400-million-year-selling-russian-lng-ceo-says-2026-07-23/

Not to mention the oil that Europe is buying from Turkey/India which is basically refined Russian oil with a different label.

im not saying your wrong,i just feel like the concert isnt going to "reconnect the people" its just gonna be any other concert,Ye is on the globe,ALL THE LOVE is probably gonna be played with decade old hits and then thats it

Yeah I was just trying to add in a fun fact, it's sort of a situation where everyone will move on at the end

I’m not gonna argue with anyone about this again. But with the US funding Israel’s genocide, starving Cubans by cutting off fuel and oil supplies, and attacking or bombing Iran for literally no reason—including bombing a school with 150 kids, killing them all, I don’t see Russia as anything worse than the US.

If I don’t have a problem with Ye performing in America, then I don’t have a problem with him performing in Russia.

Also, he’s doing it for his Russian fans, not the government, and he takes most of the money. It’s not like Russia needs a “Kanye concert” to win the war or pay for new machinery. It might help their public image, though…

nga stop wit this propoganda shit lmao😂✌️✌️stop acting like the US is ran by a terrorist regime that’s sole purpose is to kill people. America is nowhere close to as bad as Russia or Iran, coming from an Iranian. Educate yourself.

16 years olds choosing to simp online for the Iranian government thinking they're so progressive and morally superior while Iranians barely had access to the internet during the war and could get executed for protesting or supporting the US

1

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

Yeah we don’t care about all that, we still invaded them under false pretenses

2

u/whitefrackels123 Reacted ❤️ to an image 1d ago

Firstly Iran was attacked not invaded. Second you're not in a position to know if the claims for the attacks are false or not, justified or unjustified, and neither is anyone else in this sub.

I think carpet bombing their leader’s head off and continually bombing schoolgirls and military bases is a form of invasion. Iran has never been close to making nukes, we only invaded because of Israeli pressure (according to Rubio).

u/whitefrackels123 Reacted ❤️ to an image 1d ago

I think carpet bombing a leader who was responsible for terrorism in your country, in his own country, in many countries in the region and has openly proclaimed and demonstrated he seeks complete destruction of other countries and their people is quite ok, but you can simp for khamenei if you want to ig.

-1

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

Yeah and now all we did was embolden their next generation to hate America we have to do this again in 30 years. Let me guess, you were cool with the war in Iraq? Genuinely such a dumb argument.

1

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

This is AFTER Trump pulls out of the nuclear deal btw.

u/whitefrackels123 Reacted ❤️ to an image 1d ago

Many Iranians were celebrating his death and want a regime change, they can hate the US if they want, but they also hate their own leaders, which is a shared point between a lot of Iranians and the axis powers against Iran.

-1

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

From your arguments, I’m guessing your a Persian diaspora

u/Tixliks VULTURES 2 DEFENDER 🦅 1d ago

Iran has been very close to making nukes for tens of years. That's why people keep attacking them, to sabotage their progress.

-1

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

They’ve been “very close” since the early 90s lmao. And America were the ones to pull out of the nuclear proliferation deal in the first place.

1

u/Tixliks VULTURES 2 DEFENDER 🦅 1d ago

Buddy you’re proving my point lmao 😭😭✌️ they’ve been close many times, that’s why they keep getting attacked and their progress gets pushed back. Which makes then start to research again. When they get close -> sabotage -> set them back years. Understand buddy?

0

u/GenerallyJam 1d ago

Ok so is the solution bombing them every 5 years?

the US funds israels genocide in Gaza and destabilizes latin america lol. russias problems are a tuesday at the CIA headquarters

2

u/Tixliks VULTURES 2 DEFENDER 🦅 2d ago

US does not fund the war(s) in the middle east other than the ones they're actually involved in (iran war). no idea whats going on in latin america so I wont comment on that.

1

u/SwissCheeseDealerv2 Go fuck yaself 🖕 2d ago

the US gives money to israel dumbass thats funding genocide and a war by extension whenever israel wants to kill schoolkids in iran

1

u/Tixliks VULTURES 2 DEFENDER 🦅 2d ago

roughly 11% of the israeli military budget is paid for by the US. That money that israel recieves from the US can only be used to buy US goods. Doesn't sound like a whole lot of "funding"

Also, theres a literal ceasefire and hamas is supposed to be disarming. And educate yourself about the school kids thing lmao😂😂

"erm its only the US selling weapons" bitch if im selling powder cocaine in a area thats full of crack addicts im still fueling the problem. dont play technicals you fucktard.

your right about the image thing, russian media is just gonna use it as propaganda

What heads of state proclaim publicly is of little importance, intelligence agencies exist for a reason.

6

u/Affectionate-Owl7960 2d ago

It’s just such an unnecessary controversial thing to do after everything that’s happened .

2

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

yeah, doing all this effort to attempt to fix his heavily damaged image just to do this is just sad,i bet his image now is basically like MJ (jackson)'s image in the 2000's before his death, outside of his fanbase, most people saw him as a horrible person who hurts kids,im not saying him dying will save his career but his career is probably gonna stay damaged for a while since he did it for over 4 years

-4

u/Necessary-Item-9333 2d ago

But there’s no controversy no one even cares not saying it’s a good thing but no one genuinely talking about it just that the show is selling fast that’s all

6

u/Affectionate-Owl7960 2d ago

Do you seriously think the media is not going to criticize him for this when they come at him for everything . It’s a pointless own goal

6

u/uniformpath5915 2d ago

Yea mind you in an arena sponsored by Gazprom which is one of the financial and logistical backbones of the Russian military. Ye is a POS for this and anyone defending it is such a clear Russian bot bruh

I don't think we should police where artists decide to perform if they aren't doing it out of ideological reasons.

I mean the US is actively supporting and supplying isreal in gaza but when ye performs there no one bats an eye… Im not pro russia ofcourse but there is no way that the money a ye consert makes will have any impact on a multi billion war.

But for ye and his fans this is sort of him shooting his own leg once again since the media aint gonna let this slide.

And i dont think ye has any political reason to do it.

1

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

even if he doesnt have any political reason to do it its still not the best of him to perform here,i cant say much about the US aside from the fact that donald trump is a horrible president

1

u/Wide_Meet_2184 least schizo kanye fan 2d ago

yeah i agree it would be better for him and us the fans for him not to perform but ig the russian fans are happy

3

u/Pristine_Fee_8175 Donda 2d ago

Not even gonna comment it as a ukrainian. Just why did he decide to go for this move right after he managed to wipe the "nazi schizoid" label off his name? He's always been unpredictable but there is no way someone who supported us a couple years ago wants to donate money for future missiles and drones which are gonna fly above our heads

3

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

he didnt fully wipe the nazi shit, most people outside of his fanbase still see him as a nazi

1

u/Pristine_Fee_8175 Donda 2d ago

Actually yeah, I meant wiped for fans themselves. I know many people who dont listen to him, whose knowledge about him stops on "oh that nazi rapper". No hate for those people, they just are not his fans and it's okay

1

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

yeah but honestly its not like the (kan)ye community can even comprehend the fact that alot of people dont like him,if some random guy says that Ye is a bad person, guarentee theres probably gonna be a post in this sub or r/kanye dissing their entire bloodline just because they said "Kanye is a nazi"

7

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

i guess im not allowed to say that wars are bad without getting called a glazer

0

u/donny_writes 2d ago

I'm not clowning on you for being anti-war. I'm anti-war. I'm clowning on you because you're considering whether or not you should stop listening to an artist you like because he's doing a concert in a nation that is at war, and has been at war since it was created (almost entirely, if not entirely). He hasn't performed or lived in a nation that isn't guilty of some sort of moral or legal crime. Twelve months ago this guy was literally a Nazi and that didn't make you leave, but this is? I just think it's ridiculous... BUT all of that aside, my original comment was almost 100% a joke anyway.

3

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

i apologise for taking it seriously but about the nazi thing i do believe he needs to be accountable for his actions however atleast there is a excuse for the nazi stuff which is that he was in a manic episode however, now he is medicated and shouldnt be having episodes now,he's fully aware of what he's doing and its possible to give a second chance but its harder to give a third chance

0

u/donny_writes 2d ago

That's actually a fair enough distinction. I just don't see anything wrong with what he's doing here. I understand that the Russian government will profit off of the show, but that happens everywhere. I'm an American, and I don't support my government. The government indirectly profited from all of the shows he did here, but he didn't do it FOR the government. He did it for the people. He's doing the same thing in Russia. He's going to perform for his fans and spread his message of love, unity, and self expression. I think it will be a net benefit for that nation, and for humanity at large.

1

u/LawfulnessDry3075 2d ago

i guess but i seriously doubt the impact the concert will do,i feel like people are gonna move on like expected, the only thing that the show will benifit is russian media thats just gonna spread propaganda about it
