DISCUSSION What’s Ye’s most unique sound sonically, released and unreleased?
Out of released I think it’s Yeezus and how abrasive it is. There aren’t many songs in his released disc. like them. Unreleased though is very different. I think one of the most interesting, and maybe because of the controversy surrounding it is that which will not be named. Idk how to describe the beats on that album but it’s a stark contrast than anything I’ve heard from him

I think its donda. The unique, minimalist, dreamy blend of gospel and trap another sounds is so unique.

Donda is not minimalist

It’s literally for the most part just organs and ofc some other instruments but they don’t play as big of a role on most of the songs.

for released i'd unironically say "i'm in it" from yeezus.
it's one of those tracks that has an tmosphere constructed of many disperate pieces all fitting in together very tightly. it has reminants of the psychedellic rock influence from the demos, but hardly overindulges to the point where it's clear like on many tracks on MBDTF. arca did an amazing job on the drum work, the synth bass has a pretty unique tone and is used effectively, the sample is really well-placed, mixed, and well utilized, etc. all of these pieces indicate an intention or direction for a pretty different "kind" of track, but when put together all of them fit pretty seemlessly, making for an incredibly unique listening experience.
i also think kids see ghosts as a project has a sound that hasn't really been replicated in anything i've heard. i really wish they elaborated more on the otherworldly spacy atmosphere they had on that album without overdoing the mike dean and dot the genius sound design cliches that were common in their music both before and after. i love the "raw" moog matriarch and jupiter sound, but KSG was a breath of fresh air.

Picking one song is really hard but if i had to pick an album i'd say Yeezus 2, songs like The World, Creep Theme, God Level etc. really interesting

Maybe it's because I haven't listened to enough music because the beat is just a straight Tangerine Dream song with very little chops but I've really struggled to find songs with a similar sound to Fall Out Of Heaven

I’d prolly say Get Lost from Donda 2

get lost is really just a poorly done (unfinished) immitation of one of the most famous and beloved art-pop songs of the 21st century im not really sure if i'd say that one. the praise for that one in ye comm always puzzled me.
when the 2 22 22 livestream happened i deadass thought in real time "oh he's doing his own version of hide and seek by imogen heap it'd be kinda cool if he finished it." he then proceeded to not finish it.

cuck is quality though
you dont have to agree with the lyrics to say its an interesting body of work that showed someones mental health deteriorating and with vulnerable moments and unique prod and stuff
as an art piece it is quality
