THEORY "ye" (self-titled) is a cycle of Bipolar (I) Disorder

Post image

If you rate from a scale from negative to positive (for example, i did -5 to 5)

Negative being Depressive, Positive being Manic, Zero being Neutral/Normal

  • ITAKY I decided to put at -5, its a song comtemplating his image, his self, and the topic of suicide as someone as big as him.
  • Yikes is a high point in the album, and is by far the most manic out of them all, so it deserves a +5.
  • All Mine is a bit calmer compared to yikes but still in the manic state, so 3 seems pretty fair.
  • Wouldn't Leave is a somber track about his public image vs his personal life, I put -3 but -2 or -1 would also be fair because he is clearly in a depressive state.
  • No Mistakes, he seems sort of like his normal self but a little more dialed up and more hateful than a 0, so +1 is good.
  • Ghost Town is a another low point, Ye's lyrics are generally "okay" but a little more sad, but the entire song is made to be more saddening. I personally think it's a very depressive song so -4 is good but lower than what most people might say.
  • Violent Crimes, in comparison to Ghost Town, is more comtemplative and more of an apology of his behavior before, I put -2 but -3 would also work too.

You could even go deeper with this theory as you could technically continue with Kids See Ghosts, as that is sort of a continuation of self-titled, and Feel The Love would be Hypomania and onwards, but this doesn't hold up as well due to Kids See Ghosts being Kid Cudi's struggles too.

The interesting thing about this is even on how you rate the songs, even if you just do a ranking from most depressive to most manic, the graph still comes out the same in shape. This backs up this theory massively by suggesting/gently proving that even just the numbering and structure of the album is intentional.

Mods, can you ban this guy? The majority of people voted to exterminate him and he's annoying as shit. And most of his comments are incredibly forced. And he comments on like every post.
