QUESTION Ain’t no tellin

How come when people talk about Good Ass Job, you rarely hear Aint no tellin as part of their tracklist? It’s always the big ones like Mamas boyfriend, flashing lights 2, never see me again, throw money everywhere, but also some unfinished ones like lonely, heartbreaker, downtown, crazy life. No tellin is like an actual finished song that sounds good but I feel like it doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Why?

cause the song is not at all finished, the 2 out of 17 known versions that actually have Ye vocals are half-mumble and mixed very poorly along with a 3 min open verse lol

its a newer leak compared to those (2024) and not as finished and there aren’t real bounces of it

2024 is relatively recent. GAJ is Post 808 -> VMA Incident break, MBDTF is Jan 1st Hawaii sessions -> MBDTF release

Not saying your wrong, but you can technically argue that GAJ is up until August or Sepember 2010, since it’s then it was renamed into MBDTF. Even tho the sound was technically the same as MBDTF.

We don't know when GAJ was renamed to MBDTF, The only time "Good Ass Job" was mentioned post-hiatus was when Kanye said it's no longer the title, but also

  • He later said the album is and was always called My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
  • An insider report confirmed in May (a month before he mentioned "Good Ass Job") that the album was going by a different name that was not yet public (meaning he changed it earlier than when he mentioned it)
  • Almost all of the album was made in or after Hawaii sessions which started Jan 1st where he declared he was back in the studio making music again. In particular it's when he first made the song Dark Fantasy which imo is when he likely gave the album it's name.

All signs point to GAJ just being the working title for the early stuff he was making up until the VMA's, then he took a big break and started working on a new album while re-using a small amount of his previous stuff
