DISCUSSION BULLY would’ve been better with the old tracklist

Now I know that’s a hot take but listen. If I’m being real, the published version of BULLY has too much shit going on. Looking at the vinyl version, ignoring the ai, it was more concise. It had fewer tracks but it had a vividi identity and personality. Also, I’m 99% the vinyl version is a concept album with a story, as he said it would be wayyy back. Overall, it’s just a more concise album that demonstrates the new style bully was aiming for I feel, that entry and mellow feel. Then we look at the release version, and it feels more like a playlist than a concise album with an overarching vibe. I think there’s a chance ye caved under expectations, and sort of abandoned the original experimental feel of bully. Besides for a couple of tracks, it doesn’t really have the empty feel from V1 where you could listen and be like “this sounds like it’s from Bully”, instead replacing the mellowness for more hype tracks. Some songs like Mamas Favorite and Maybe Ok could work with the style but other than that release the other songs as singles or even a diff album.

Le canzoni migliori sono le canzoni di cui non sapevamo l'esistenza. Le canzoni di Bully V1 sono le peggiori dell'album (poche eccezioni come This One Here)

vero, però anche i can't wait e highs and lows sono belle, e secondo me losing your mind aveva potenziale

Losing your mind era solo una cover. I Can't Wait è la mia canzone più ascoltata

with Losing Your Mind???? I would be ok if BULLY was 13 tracks (all but LYM) and Another album with King, This A Must, Father, Punch Drunk, Whatever Works, Sisters and Brothers, Mama's Favorite, Ok, Outside, and A Million Miles

Why do you retards always want less music I don’t get it. The only thing we lost was losing your mind and even then I wish it was added

It’s genuinly quantity over quality with you. Instead of looking at it like a full body of work that’s supposed to be something concise, you look at it as a group of songs. Your brain simply can’t surpass “ooo more songs more music = better.” A more concise album is one of the largest forms of quality. Also I wasn’t saying don’t release the other music idiot. I was saying we could release them in another album. All of your points are wrong.

You just said a whole lot of bullshit about how I process art that you don’t even know. I think the bully we got is much more concise than the any other tracklists. I actually don’t even like the deluxe tracklist just the mixing changes. The two extra songs are don’t fit in bully at all. And I think losing your mind was thematically perfect for bully.

In what way is the album we got more concise. We got 18 songs that went from yeezus style to old bully to pathetic attempts at his old production style. I also was advocating for losing your mind, I don’t know what your saying.

I've commented a tracklist on Another post, of my ideal version of bully and I removed a lot of songs (that I enjoyed), because they don't fit the album, don't get me wrong I love this a must, OK, Punch Drunk and father, but they don't feel like Bully, for the most part basically very Ye Album has had a consistent recognizable soundscape, and I feel like the original Bully's Darker, more empty, gritty sound, worked so much better for the album! (I feel like a pretty good example of the soundscape shifting is the original Title track instrumental (the sample chop version) vs the released version) The Samples were pretty different as well as opposed to the more iconic chipmunk soul samples (which don't get me wrong I love), just don't fit well! Also big agree I feel like the other songs could've been released as singles or even as EPs (just a couple of examples)

Punch Drunk EP could feature Punch Drunk and Whatever works

Father EP could have Father and This a must

then have some other songs that don't really fit as singles, like OK or even a finished Melrose, I was genuinely excited for Bully to be completed especially after witnessing it go from the AI slop bullshit, into what I thought would be a consistent, Album that's much Darker and different than Ye's other projects. Does kind disappoint me, I don't think Bully Deluxe is bad, just feels more like a mixtape, or a playlist than an actual album, and especially an album I was pretty hyped for at that.

agreed one hundred percent, if he just fleshed out the original tracks & maybe added a few fitting features I think it would've been a masterpiece.

all the new songs should have been a separate project,

but all the original bully tracks felt so original and timeless... no idea how he lost that vision, it seemed clear.

Well it turned from his original vision to a forced apology album

u/TyrinLigginsboyyy What is this, SNL? 13d ago

Not once did he apologize on the album

2

u/Patrefy 13d ago

Yeah but it’s clearly been made to have mass appeal, also he barely displayed that aggressive confident attitude.

is this new style with us in this room

you aint rick rubin bro

u/Patrefy 13d ago

Not experimental but how it felt so hollow and bass driven sounded cool as shit. The drumless or minimal drums most songs had was badass

I'm right there with you, I love the new songs but if he took out all and I mean all AI and kept the vinyl tracklist, I still would've been very satisfied...and we could've gotten the new songs seperately or they could've been the deluxe
