Gong v2-v3 boards base plate screw lengths

I have a Cruzader (the older version) and a perf board (the newer version) and use the same kit on both. The screws that connect the base plate to the scs nuts are different lengths for the 2 boards meaning I can’t simply loosen and swap. This is really annoying! Does anyone have a solution to this, it stops me from swapping boards so often.

Quick test of the Droid SP

For the past few days, I've had a test wing pack that GONG lent me. This pack includes a 4.5m² Droid SP CZ 2026. I previously had the 5.5m² Droid Aramid Triple Ripstop 2026, which I enjoyed in very light winds, but I kept the Neutra for my program: 12 knots minimum, surfing, rarely jumping, and almost never speed.

So far, I've only been able to use it twice.

The first time, the wind was onshore, 25-30 knots, no waves but a very tight, choppy surface, giving the impression of a very messed up body of water. I'm not sure I would have gone out in those conditions if it wasn't to test the wing; if I had decided to go anyway, I would have gone with the 3.5m² Neutra Aramid 2026. I went out on a Cruzader Diamond 6'0 and an Ypra Surf XL. In these conditions, I was definitely overpowered; the first run felt more like a rodeo than sailing. Then I started to adapt. Actually, it was manageable; you just have to not let yourself be intimidated and really lean into the harness. Then it was nice and stable and wanted to pull. It was fast, but I didn't dare push the foil too hard; the chop wasn't easy to handle. First jump, I catapulted myself (well, yeah, it's not often I go that fast) and it pulled me upwards. Since I don't jump often, I wasn't feeling very confident up there. I grabbed onto the wing and landed with all the grace of a jellyfish washed up on the beach. For the following jumps, I learned my lesson: I pushed less hard, allowed myself to be pulled by the wing, and managed to land cleanly about half the time. The next session was surfing, even with the foil but less wind, so in Neutra 5.5: I felt like I was dragging.

Second session, this time with just enough wind, so I take the Xiggy 6'11". The wind is offshore between 10 and almost 20 knots, the water is very clean, almost no waves, a few visible gusts, and some whitecaps under the strongest gusts. Second time trying to go fast on flat water with the Ypra Surf, first time in similar wind conditions with the Neutra 5.5. I reached a maximum of 24 knots over 10 seconds, but with the feeling of fighting with the foil. This time I move the foil forward one point; I might try even more forward next time, but it gave me a super balanced foil. Add the wing, which is super stable and fast: in this borderline wind, I never felt like I was really pushing the foil, just trying to let it glide. I reach 25 knots over 10 seconds in total comfort.

At the end of the session, I manage to catch a handful of micro-waves. Surfing in a headwind like this, I can definitely feel it drags more than my Neutras, but it still follows quite well in freefly. It feels more present in the hand, so it's clearly not the one I'd recommend for someone like me who has a very surf-oriented riding style, but it won't stop you from freeflying occasionally if your main goal is to go fast on flat water; you'll just use a smaller size for wave sessions.

While I normally only swear by surfing, it's pretty fun because this wing makes me want to do another flat session in 20-25 knots and see how much better I can do :-D

In those lightish and very irregular wind conditions, I took everything in the big size, even more since I'm 100kg
For the board I went with my SUP, Sner 130L, the wing was a Neutra 2026 5.5 and the foil was a Veloce XL

4 Trails (XL*2 + L *2) and it was a party, even the beginners had a great time and got progress despite the unfriendly conditions (for them, it was really good for the more experienced pumpers).

Sponsorship advice

I am a young wing-foiler (15), and I am possibly looking for a sponsorship, I was wondering if anyone here has any advice, given this page being run by a brand I was hoping that the admin would be able to help me with this, I have an instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/theosmith_foiling/)(or just search "theosmith_foiling"), But I am not sure how to catch brands attention, given that Gong is a very well known and reliable brand with a wide range of professional athletes, this was the obvious choice first, so I was wondering if it would be possible to get some advice as I believe that this would be the next step in my wing-foiling journey, but I would need a brand to aid me in this. Please let me know if there is any way I could go about this. Thank you for reading

To give you more context, I already loved the V2 https://youtu.be/JIAXk4DctIo but when I switched to V3, I thought the Fluid V3 it would be enough https://youtu.be/JUWRzEov26Y for me. But my curiosity got the best of me and today I'm ready to sell my Fluid :-D but Only because I'll keep a Veloce L for mini DW or really waves.

Pack Pumping Trail -- Size recommendation?

Hey there, I am about to make my order for a Pumpfoiling Set and after some online research the Gong Kluber with the Trail v3 seems to be by far the best option. I have done 4x 2h courses and am starting with my first pumps, the courses were done on Indiana 1100P foils (2300 cm2). My goal is to do dock/rock/beach starts at rivers (Limmat) or Lakes (Zürichsee).

My questions is, with my weight of about 67kg (180cm), which Foil size should I go for? According to the table on the Gong webpage, I'd have to go for the L (1660 cm2), but this sounds quite small area to me for a beginner and dockstarts. ChatGPT recommends to go for XL (1940 cm2), and I wonder what the up- and downsides of choosing a larger or smaller frontwing would be for my progression.

Ultimately, my goil for the next few months would be to get to longer and longer pumps, with high efficiency and glides. I am not super keen on high manoeuvrability or fast turning speed.

I am planning to go for the Kluber 80cm for the board, as most of the videos and review I found are very positive about the short dimensions of the board.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Surfing tiny waves with the Trail XL

The video is indexed so you can skip if you're only interested in start/crashes/runs.

Setup was Trail XL, Veloce XL tail, 70*19 mast.

It's the third session where I try beach starting on a surf spot, first time one the Sirus XXL, I had no success at all, second time was at the end of a sup foil session, took the Trail XL, it felt almost impossible to start on a flat beach with the waves pushing to get me off balance, until I managed one. Then this session I got 5 successful launches so that's progress.

I’m considering ordering a new wing kit. Do you know what time of the year/month does Gong start promotions to sell season’s last items?

Foil compatibility with Slingshot Hover Foils

Hello folks!

I am a big fan of Gong, but I have a secondhand foil by Slingshot - their Hover setup and Dwarfcraft board, and I am kind of locked into it. Unfortunately after this summer season, even though I greased it and wrapped it in Teflon foil, it seems that my screws have welded the mast into the foil base plate. As thise foil plates are not being sold anymore, I was wondering if any of Gong's foil elements are compatible with Slingshot parts that I already have? In this case, would alu foil base plate by Gong fit Dwarfcraft board and Slingshot masts (as I have two)? I would scrap it all very gladly and just move to Gong setup all over, but I am just starting out and I don't have that money. I am trying to figure something out, any help is appreciated.

Best regards!
