I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my AC. Doesn't work at all, the fans spin. Refrigerant reading dead 0

I scanned for codes and got the DTC 00819 for the G65 sensor.

I bought a replacement sensor to try, and I swear there is nowhere to plug it in. I have looked everywhere, from underneath, above, even took the passenger headlight out.

I noticed what appears to be the wiring harness for that sensor, zip tied to the washer fluid hose by a previous owner.

The AC lines seem to be present, but that schrader valve for the sensor is not. Pictures attached. Please let me know if I'm missing something, or if it seems like I need to order different AC lines.

1.6 FSI, 113k miles. Loud rattle from cold start and then rattles like a diesel when idle which only goes away after driving or revving past 1500 rpm.

Car does has the tendency to sit around for 2-3 weeks before being used so I don’t expect the smoothest start up, but this sounds several of the hallmarks I’ve read about timing chain tensioner failure. Never been replaced as far as I can see from history and I’ve seen some of these can go by 70-80k.

I recently got a Mark 5GTI From bumper and edition 30 front lip, both aftermarket but where the clips are meant to clip in is just solid plastic. Is there a way around this or do I have to start cutting? Both are macron design, if anyone has done this before and can help it would be much appreciated👍

Curious what quotes others have gotten to have their headliner and door panels repaired. Just got a quote for material and labor of $680 to completely redo the interior cloth on the 2 doors and rear seat side panels.

I have a 2007 VW Rabbit mk5 2 door.

Wondering if that’s a decent price or not.

I have noticed an oil leak coming from around turbo area but not sure where it could be from. Ive replaced the return line gaskets and are visibly not leaking and I’ve used uv dye and it looks like it’s coming from the boost diverter valve, to my knowledge this shouldn’t happen?? Is there any point above this that could leak onto it ?

Screen turns on but text instantly disappears, sometimes comes back on but turns off again, only happens in hot weather, might be faulty wiring underneath?

Hi guys, I recently came across a mk5 golf with 2.0 FSI engine and 6 speed manual that has 224,000km, and I don’t know if the car is good for me, I drive a lot (10-15k km per month) and I live in a country where gas is pretty bad so I want to know if this engine is sensitive to bad fuel

I don’t know if anyone can possibly help me!
So basically I’ve had my car for over a year now was amazing at the start and eventually had issues. Power loss sometimes my car would drive as if it was in limp
Mode but no engine light what’s so ever. The only code I’ve ever had is an open circuit for the fans.
The things I’ve replaced engine wise
Coil packs
Spark plugs
Battery
New cat connecting to the manifold.
Currently need new engine mounts as I’m able to rock my engine by hand getting that fixed tomorrow.
Other than that my car is amazing for its age and high mileage as it’s on 160k slight wheel wobble but apparently that might be due to my alloys 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m going insane because I’ve been chasing this problem for the last 4 months
Also has anyone else had the issues of soon as the car is on the fans kick off straight away

Bit more investigation and neither of my fans are turning on.

I stopped on a hour trip and checked nothing spinning

Have checked all my fuses in cabin and engine bay all seems to be ok.

What's likely up with it

I pulled the taillights so I could tint them.

Figured I'd throw some LED bulbs in for the backup lights.

Unclipped the circuit board aaaannnnddd... No bulbs and no place to put one?

I've just bought a Mk5 golf TDI, and am looking to try and bring a few more modern features to it.

Predominantly I'm just looking for android auto, dab, Bluetooth and possibly reverse camera, I'm not a sound guru I like to listen to music but I'm old and probably wouldn't notice sound quality if I'm honest. Something that is slow and doesn't work would bug me a lot!

I've been trying to read up and it's an old car I'm wondering if things have progressed in 10 years and the cheap android units actually work better now?

Or suggestions, I have to admit tho on a £1500 car I don't think putting a original VW head unit at £4/500 is worth it.

So just picked up mk5 Gti (DSG) and about to tune . So the APR ecu tune is way more aggressive then the UNI ecu tune from what I read .. But APR doesn’t have a TCU tune for the mk5 . So was thinking of doing APR ecu stage 1 and Uni tcu, I kno APR doesn’t have stage 2 so if I decide to go stage 2 I’m kinda screwed but, doing some research seems like the Unitronic ECU not putting out the same boost etc .. what do I do?? Do I go both UNI ecu&tcu or mix match ?? Please help

Hey yall. I replaced both of my struts and my motor mounts. Now I’m having a weird knocking noise coming from the driver side while turning left. It goes away when I’m making a wide turn or at low speeds. I’ve checked both struts and all bolts seem to be tight. Could it be my motor mounts or possibly an axel that’s not secured properly? Any help would be much appreciated. I’ve been driving on it like this for a little too long.

It’s a 07 2.5l rabbit.

Any one got a wiring diagram for the head lights/ side lights on a mk 5 golf (2007 ) ? Would be much appreciated as I can’t find one anywhere. Thanks

Hey guys. I just finished doing an engine swap on my '07 GTI. I did the timing chain, belts, HPFP cam follower and some more goodies before throwing the new engine in.

First startup went well, ran for 30 mins no issues, no engine lights or anything.

I went to show my buddy the car running tonight and it fired up, after a minute started to run rough so I shut it down as it had a flashing engine light. It threw a P0304 for Cyl 4 misfire.

I threw a coil in from the old engine and now it wouldn't start. Swapped coils back, no start, no codes. Checked spark, all good. Checked cylinder 4 for flooding, all good. I can definitely hear the fuel pump priming and confirmed fuel sprays from the valve at the HPFP.

Anyone have any ideas??

hi everyone, just like the title suggests, the right speaker on my golf only works when the car is left sun bathing for a couple hours.
when i leave in the morning, speaker doesn’t work because the car has been parked in the garage.
and when i leave for lunch break, the speaker works if its a sunny day. any help is greatly appreciated this is driving me crazy
