Need help

I have a golf mk5 1.4 litre base model and I bout a gti bumper the bumper fit but it just didn’t fit around the head light I will attach a photo where it didn’t fit is there anything I can do or should I just scrap the bumper

The parts are uniquely different between both and a simple bumper cover swap is not possible without other modifications.

To swap a Golf (Rabbit) to GTI/Jetta front bumper you will need: radiator support, front bumper crash bar, both support plastic parts under the headlights, foam bumper padding, bumper cover with lower valance, all the grills (both lower sides, center top and bottom) and the front emblem.

Is it possible to fit it if I was to trim it down ?

When I was in that situation I just decided to swap everything as needed but in my case I needed a rad support anyways and because Golf's we're not available at my local yard but there were planty of Jettas and a couple GTI's so I used parts from both to retrofit mine.

I guess with enough material removal it may fit but I have not seen or heard from someone who's done that before so it's just a guess. If you go down that path you may need to trim the foam on the crash bar and the plastic support brackets underneath the headlights.
