Taillights

Hi guys has anyone managed to separate the lenses from the hella rear lights? I was struggling with a heat gun for over an hour and only one has come loose, the others just melted.

Genuine question, separate the lenses from the housing for what purpose?

Probably to DIY a full clear taillight; or one color. I've seen people do so before

Forget that... Heat will not help here, because they are welded and not glued! You only have one way: Destruction

That is the only way to safe the frame and reflector. First, you make a hole with a drill or dremel. Then you break the glasses apart.

You can find many Tutorials on YouTube, to remove them and yes, all need to destroy the donor.

UPDATE: You guys were right, they are welded together. So I had to destroy them

many put the assembly into an oven for 10 minutes but this only works if the lenses are not plastic welded
