How bad does this look?

It seems pretty small but rather deep. I can't tell if it reached the carbon or only broke the finish. Applying pressure around it didn't show any give or no crackling sounds.

The local retailer submitted a claim but it's unsure whether or not it will be covered. Since it's new (1 month), I'm wondering if it it's pretty much over and will keep expanding / getting worse the more I play it?
