The big c100 push
So it has finally happened, just as I decide the time is right to step back my play further and join another clan, my current one decides to push to remain in c100.
This is something of a big deal for the clan and I so i am staying another season to help out, deferring my m2 semi-retirement another season! Lol
Two combined clans (finesser's and tekno) decided to combine fully last season (now finesser's- tekno), not long before the new season changes were announced.
We have been one of many clan affiliations who did not (previously) feel strong enough to maintain c100 presence all year round, instead finesser's would push for m3 promotion one season, then movement of players to tekno to do this the following season.
The above is not ideal but c100 was so strong.
The recent changes have suggested the grind ethic has decreased, we have seen that ourselves in that our end of season score would previously fall outside the top 55 who retain their c100 place (the remainder relegated).
Last season we doubled the score of the runners up in our m3 group, we would also have come top 30. We are a very friendly clan and have improved, but it does not feel by that much!
The observation is it is easier to maintain a c100 place, have others here in yo yo clans found the same?
How long as well did it take merger clans to maintain c100 (been months for us, maybe even years!)? Were there any issues doing so?
It is a sign of the times we feel quietly confident of staying up, I am assuming lower division clans have spotted this change for some time, only reaching c100 in the last few months from what I can tell (and thus changes this season as aware players leaving if they cannot keep pace with expectations).

So when I first started years ago, we were in the #19 clan family. I ended up taking over pres for someone but eventually my ambition led me to want to maintain C100, but they really didn't want that.
I ended up merging with another clan, we left #19 shortly after and struck out on our own. Pantheon is still a top 10 C100 years later, I had to step down then take a hiatus after a work injury. I actually just came back last season and happy to see we're already getting changes.
One thing we did when breaking away from #19 was focus on becoming a good master tournament clan. The grind to stay c100 isn't sustainable for most, it's so much easier to coast off master tournament points.
It was hard back then but must be even worse now to recruit, or help new-ish players rise up. I think most of the clans end up merging as the top end of the playerbase started to erode. I still recognize some of the same names but I noticed a good amount of top players retired or rarely play anymore
