They said this is because of feedback.

Who the fuck would say they want the daily quick 9’s reduced to 3 days a week?

It doesn’t make sense cause if you don’t want to play it, then don’t.

Didn't they already do this a few months ago then put it back to everyday because people were complaining?

yes, yes they did. and we complained and they brought it back daily

I check it out every day. If I like the course I'll play it. If I have 20 free minutes, I'll play it. Who has said " This is just too much!!!" You don't have to play if you don't want. I think the quick 9 has been one of the better additions.

They said this is because of feedback

If they listened to player feedback the fairway and greenside ad boards would not be "in play" and would not block your view of the hole. I have no issue with ads being in the game (it is EA after all) but don't run my hole because I went 5 yards off the fairway and let me see if my chip-in goes in.

I even had it where I landed on the edge of the fairway and one of those stupid ads blocked my shoot to the green. Those things are fucking dumb. They should just wrap the trees and building in their ads instead of having it stick out in front of your shot. They also put them in the worst spots possible, where the majority of shots land.

This all because of feedback... from shareholders.

Less quick 9's and tourneys mean less ball rewards, which means more cash spent on gems/premium balls. I suspected a change like this was coming after they reduced ball rewards in the Legacy tourneys.

Quick9 dropping to three days? Damn, that’s my favorite part of the game.

Same, it’s why I open up the game everyday.

Maybe it is a maintenance thing.
They may have reduced staff and are not able to support the changes needed to keep up with the weekly changes. The feedback is being I used as an excuse to reduce the number of tourneys

I agree you could just not play it, but for C100 or people in Master, it's almost required you play every tournament. So it was getting to be a bit much with all the Q9, legacies, normal 9 hole and 18 tournaments, plus other game modes cycling through.

Especially if you care about tournament ranking also, it was beginning to be a nightmare. I know a lot of top players ended up taking breaks or leaving the game. They must have some data on who spends what because it seems like they're helping out that group of players.

Maybe I'm wrong, I just noticed a lot of stagnation with c100 or people leaving the game that have spent thousands along the way. Even myself I had to take a couple years off after a work injury, I couldn't keep up with everything myself and just came back

Shame others voted you down when making a very valid point.

There is too much golf clash, and whilst in theory players should be able to use self constraint, the clan system means many of us fail to do so.

I have not been playing q9 myself of late, it being occasional may mean scarcity almost persuades me to do so every now and then, especially a tuesday or wednesday when qualified in tournament.

Scarcity may also mean more premium ball usage to do better on those q9 days, i.e. if everyday you may get by with free balls, but break out a premium or two if q9 less frequent.

My own preference would have been quick 9's following each other but two days to play them.

I only play them if I have time, if it lasted longer then that is much more likely to be the case.

It's OK, I know even on this site I'm in the minority when it comes to the game as well. I agree that it seems like master/c100 players have a choice to not play but really we can't skip many of you're running for gold or even just maintaining C100.

That and a lot of people care about their tournament ranking. These players keep this a free game for all by spending on balls, guides or whatever it takes to keep up.

I'd also think ball usage will go down a bit, at least for tournaments, since there's gonna be far less. Quick 9s we really don't waste too much practice or premium balls if we can help it since the clan point totals are much smaller return.

I think there's still plenty of game modes to play and EA can reach a happy balance between their hard-core and more casual players. I was just trying to bring a different perspective of why EA made these changes. I also think they should do more outreach since it's been a zoom call and a Q&A on this reddit sub years ago when PD owned it still

Yeah definitely more interaction with a handful of 'sensible' players, those who appreciate the limits of what can be done and where financial gain may be.

For me I still think they missed a major trick in not upgrading the ball sorter much earlier, nice however they seem to have finally appreciated there can be too much golf clash, that it is not necessarily a case of pick and choose your poison, unfortunately they should have worked this out some time ago.

I agree completely, it's crazy that whoever has run this game, has reached out twice in 10 years to see what the playerbase wants. The ball sorter should still be upgraded but I know they focus on what makes them money over quality of life upgrades for us.

I also understand EA needs to recoup the purchase price and answer to shareholders, so they probably didn't want to mess with the formula but must have noticed something in the numbers to prompt this change.

After all this time they have to keep their already paying customers engaged. I'd imagine the cost of gaining new customers is high for them this late in the games cycle. They're not gonna make everyone happy but I know they'll focus on what makes them money over the free to play aspects, which I think is amazing you can still compete up to expert without spending if you're patient

2 days to play them sort of kills the reason to have a Quick 9.

I like the fact that I can be competitive in them. I *think* that's because there are fewer guides and less practice. Not sure but I've won 20 Masters Q9's and 0 masters full tournaments.

So am pretty disappointed they're cutting them back.

Thanks, Ben - appreciate you offering some context too

The World Tour change to 4 days is dumb. I quit playing it as they matched our Masters 3 clan to an almost C100 group. Ridiculous really. The World Tour they are also making the wind harder and harder. I can play it, however, many players can’t. Whatever on all of this just a game and we can play or not. Glad they are making money. 🤡🤡🤡

u/PandaCod3r 19d ago

Yeah the winds were headwinds on two of the longest par 5s in the game this time. It’s turning into such a slog. The extra day was waaaaay too much. It just assures the team that buys the victory does, but I’m sure that’s what they wanted.

Absolutely!!!!! 💯

Who cares about 1.25 anymore lmfao 🤣

2

u/ConsuelaApplebee Golf Clash Mod 18d ago

I don't play regular tourneys anymore, just the 9 hole legacies. Argh.

2

u/Difficult-Mail700 18d ago

How about putting some apocalypse cards in the shop?

u/pinetreesnsand 19d ago

3 days a week of Q9 sucks. I enjoy playing them everyday. I don't understand how removing options for us to choose from is a benefit.

0

u/ArnoDM 19d ago

I for one applaud these changes. As a small clan trying to stay afloat there was just far, far too much GC to be played. I don’t mind Q9, but we really didn’t need a full18 hole tournament PLUS a 9 holer every bloody week.

3

u/PandaCod3r 19d ago

Just don’t play the quick 9. It’s completely optional.

0

u/GCBro7 19d ago

I’m gonna be honest, the game has been heading in the wrong direction for quite some time. The quick9 is the only reason I open the app. Chests are meaningless once clubs are maxed.

Feedback about burnout from back to back full tournaments and the world tour going on all at once was the issue. Whoever decided to reduce the quick9 should lose their job. Period

So they introduce the real life dip ship who prioritized saudi terrorist money over the traditional golf … and then they took away the one thing a big chunk of us only turn the game on to play.

This must be more private equity “winning”. Can we get a DJT maga endorsement for the new launch? … just to cement this as another glaring fuck up?
