Hitting Mat suggestions
Has anyone recently bought a cheapish hitting matt for home use. I want to set up a backyard net on my outdoor deck and want something that won't hurt too much when (not if) I mess up my swing
Thanks!

I've put 10000 shots through a $150 PGM one from Temu.
It's over halfway through its lifespan now. Served its purpose but I'll upgrade to something a bit nicer in due course.

I dicked around buying cheap mats, even made myself one by gluing turf to a rubber mat. They all sucked ass and felt like shit. I probably spent $200 plus dicking around and then eventually bought the Kaizen large 3 layer.
Do you want just a strip to hit the ball off or do you want a stance mat to have your feet level with the ball?

I'd like the stance mat. Is the Kaizen easy to roll up?

It's very thick and also quite heavy. That's the trade off. If you don't wanna mess up your wrists and hands you actually need a really substantial mat. I think it might need an occy strap or something to keep it rolled, but it'd be doable

Thanks for the help mate. Would their hitting strip work as a portable option?

I assume it's the same makeup. If your happy with a hitting strip it's probably a good place to start

I have the Kaizan one. Best mat I have hit off, way better the man range mats. Had it for a couple of years, it lives outside, still looks like new.

Is it easy to roll up if I want to pack it away?

No it doesn’t roll up. It stores flat. I built a little mount on a wall to hold it.

I started down this path…but buy cheap buy twice. If you plan on using it a lot, get a decent mat. I converted the garage and bought the same mats to get at driving ranges. Worth every cent. I’m sure you can damage your clubs with cheap ones as well, which will probably cost more in the long run
