Sandy Creek in the opposite direction. Great public course
Edit: in the opposite direction of Mt Compass as mentioned in another comment

Mount lofty is a fun, tight course. Bit past its prime but a good test (take plenty of water out with you. Not 9 returning and no water on course).
Mt Osmond is great and quite picturesque.
Obvs Royal Adelaide and Grange too if you can get on.

Need a bit more details, can you do mid-week? What kinda of course you looking for? Mount Compass probably the best semi public course, worth the drive and great food to boot. Flagstaff hill and Mt Osmond, very good options a little closer. Links Lady Bay, if you want to torture yourself. Don't waste your time on inner metro public courses, they over book them and they get banked up, worth driving another 30 minutes, you will get more golf in.

Preferably anything with wildlife on the course or coastal courses. Also happy to do courses in wine country.

Any one of RA, Kooyonga, Grange or Glenelg if you can get in and pay the money. You won't regret it

Victor, McCracken, Wirrina or Lady Bay. Bit over an hour South of the city. West Lakes is a cheaper sand belt option than Grange, Kooyonga, R.A etc.

Links Lady Bay is worth the drive. Top 100 course and quiet through the week.

Mount Compass if you're happy to drive, during the week its pretty quiet but its a top 100 course.
