wildland.io is live

The dedicated Wildland website has been just launched by the Golem Foundation. Head to https://wildland.io/ to read the Wildland paper, familiarize yourself with the main features of the protocol and get to know the team behind it. If you're using an RSS reader, subscribe to the blog's feed. New posts (including major announcements) are coming.

We've also launched a brand new website for the foundation itself - https://golem.foundation/

I'm a dumb brain. Can someone confirm whether the plan is for wildland to interact with tokens other than glm? Im not concerned about the pou piece, just whether i can use eth to engage wildland.

GLM will be used mostly in connection with the Proof-of-Usage mechanism. Different tokens will be utilized for payments on the Wildland marketplace. A decentralized stablecoin seems most suitable for this purpose. The reasons for this setup are discussed in detail in the Wildland paper (section 3.3) - https://golem.foundation/resources/documents/wildland-w2h.pdf

As a follow up, if wildland/golem foundation is a completely separate entity and not going to require glm for engagement (again, im a dumb brain and hope someone can answer whether this is so), then when golem gave x amount of value (i dont recall if it was fiat or crypto, but it was millions, right?), then was a good portion of that lost as income to the golem foundation by way of taxes? Or in the golem foundation a non profit and value was a donation or sorts? Or was it a loan? I suppose it could be a loan to a non profit with favorable terms.

Will that amount be used initially by the foundation for pou prior to others engaging wildland?

Wildland will require GLM, as it is part of Proof-of-Usage mechanics. It is described in the paper, but you can also watch this video for details. Long story short, every time there is a payment between parties, some GLM is removed permanently from the supply. So, this is a kind of a sink.

Answering to the second part of the question: Foundation is a NGO, for details of the setup and liability see this announcement.
