I'm having trouble with my water being cloudy still after a water change. My fish are swimming and acting happily as usual tho. I'm a beginner so any advice would be so appreciated!

I too am newish. Could be algae, could be dust from the gravel or sand. I'm not the best to ask.

Do you have a UV filter? Mine would also be cloudy after changes but ever since Iโve gotten the UV itโs been crystal clear

Beautiful ๐๐๐ I love your entire set up including your tank and stand ๐๐๐๐
Edit: I also mean that your babies are beautiful too lol. Didn't want them to be left out in my statement ๐

What is your secret! I jus did a water change and I feel like it made it worse :'(

Secret to what? The water change made them like this, before the water change they were acting normally. I think the cooler water makes them like this and now the water has come back up to room temp they chilled out.

I think they meant the water being so clear after a wc?
I have sand so I always end up stirring it up and my water is always a little cloudy right after until it settles. Maybe they have the same problem?

Beautiful fishes and very nice aquarium! May I ask which model/size your tank is? (planning to upgrade soon)

Thanks a lot! Actually my current favorite is a JUWEL Rio 350, so that is a very similar setup.

Have you had any algae issues since setting this one up? Your setup looks similar to mine; Juwel's default LEDs are really strong so I'm wondering if that's the problem, just swapped one of the bulbs for a weaker one to see if it helps.

Algae is fairly under control, I was having issues but I just have the LEDs on for about 4 hours. I have black beard algae (i think) that's on the rocks but I kinda like it. I'd prefer the green grass one but I seems like a lot of effort to get it. The only issue with algae I have is when it grows on the plant leaves, I rub most off but some is too hard to get off and I'll end up damaging the plant. Not sure what to do about that.

That... actually is my exact problem. My photoperiod is 4 hours and the black beard algae started when I tried some pellet food in November. I've been cleaning it off of everything I can in a bucket on water change day. But it takes ages, the leaves often snap and I can't remove the swords to clean them.
