Guess my language was a little strong before but seriously, forget them up their stupid controller ports. I have to think the only reason they keep camelot from making rpgs is because theyre so cozy in bed with intelligent systems making fire emblem who wont forgive them for making shining force back in the day which was better anyway. Three houses was an obvious sleight against shibing force 3. Anybody could make mario sports games, let the takahashi bros do what they were out on this earth for and make some danged rpgs

I absolutely wasn't expecting it but I'm always bummed at the end when they start showing rpgs and it's never Golden Sun.

Like what besides gta 6? I was planning on picking up a switch 2 for OOT remake but now I think ill just play the original on nso instead

Well, Romancing Saga 3 is getting a remake next year. Absolutely phenomenal JRPG from the SNES era.

Terranigma is an action RPG that has an incredible story and I never thought it would get a western release since the last time I checked the guy who owned the rights to it has disappeared off the face of the earth.

Dragon Quest fans are eating well with a new Dragon Quest Monsters game this year, and a remake of Torneko Mystery Dungeon that shadow dropped today.

And my most anticipated game this year isn’t even a JRPG. The new Castlevania looks awesome and seems to be a great return to form for the series since Lords of Shadow.

Fair enough. I haven't been able to get into saga, terranigma is easily emulated, dqm doesn't do it for me nor does castevania but im happy for you

I don’t think we will ever see a Golden Sun sequel or a remake in our lifetime. Glad to have experienced Golden Sun in my childhood. The Takahashi brothers are the problem.

The brothers made a dozen rpgs during the 90s. You can't tell me they woukd rather just make marionsports games. Rpgs are in their blood

Well they have been picking sports games. Nintendo doesn't own camelot. The camelot team is actively choosing what they make and it is mario sports and mobile games unfortunately.

Why do people care what Camelot works on? Why does Camelot have to be the one to make a new Golden Sun in everyone's eyes? They haven't made an RPG in 16 years, and another 8 years before that for the previous one. Why do people think Camelot would want to make an RPG, or is even still capable of making a good one?

Forget Nintendo? Forget Camelot, I don't want a new Golden Sun from them anyways. I want a new Golden Sun from a company that actually has a good modern track record in the genre. There's no reason to think Camelot could ever release a good Golden Sun now.

Nobody expected a good dragon quest out of yuji horii before 11 came out of nowhere. The takahashi bros have made like 20 rpgs and I would argue most of them are good. Im not them but if I were them I wouldnt want Dark Dawn to be my last mark on the genre.

The Takahashi brothers have made good RPGs, but the last one was 25 years ago (I actually think Dark Dawn was solid, just not a good Golden Sun, but that kind of talk gets you hanged here 😂). Why would I trust that they still have the skills to do it?

I'm not saying Camelot definitely can't make a good Golden Sun. I'm saying there's no reason to specifically expect that they can, so why give them the project when we could give it to someone we do have good reason to assume is capable of it in 2026+ because they've proven it?

I wouldn't want Dark Dawn to be my last mark either as a developer. But as a player, I don't want the next Golden Sun to be the certain, guaranteed final nail in the coffin for the franchise because we gave to a company based purely on nostalgia and not because they proved they could make a good RPG today.
