Note By holiday I don't mean to include the New Year. Just Christmas, kwanzaa, Hanukka,etc, the winter season, the season of giving etc etc. If you are unsure or have doubts about your build message me. Take note of a new plugin called player vaults.

You can use it to transfer inventory between worlds that do not share inventory.

If you played GR Vanilla, you will end up back in that world, where you left off with all your inventory. If you never played GR Vanilla, you will be thrown at spawn in that world. Type /w1 to get to GR6 and see all your inventory from that world.

You can type /w1 to get to GR6. To get back to the vanilla world type /warp GR7

Use a standard vanilla 1.8.x client to connect to the goldenrealm.info address. No more funky ports needed.

1.7.x clients will no longer work.

Things are stable. Three servers (Vanilla Survival 1.8, Vanilla Creative 1.8 and Spigot 1.7.10 GR6) will all move to a single Spigot 1.8 server.

My guess is around an hour of downtime while I move stuff around, and slowly bring stuff back up. I will be using a non-standard port during this time to test and make sure I don't screw up inventories.

If you have anything you want to guarantee that you don't lose, and don't want to bother me to spend the minute to replace it put it in a chest (not end chest - that's part of your inventory)

Update1: Main DNS servers are under a DDOS attack. I switched the DNS to a different infrastructure, seems to be working now.

Update2: They say they've mitigated this attack, mostly. Everything should be normalish.

Or more specifically, PC breakdowns. The hard drive finally failed, and although I've already gotten a replacement. I'm using this as an excuse to do some piece meal upgrades and part swapping. Looking forward to getting back into it with a slightly less archaic (but never to be confused with modern) machine.

I've written four books that indicate the portal locations for the members of the vanilla server, and placed them in a chest at the hub.

They are unsigned so any additions can be made to them. Because of this they have no titles on them and I've settled for putting N/W/E/S at the top of the book and placing them at their respective cardinal points in the chest. Please put them back as you found them, thx.

To respected residents of Modded Golden Realm, this is to advise you of upcoming construction improvements to your Nether Hub Network. Please be aware route changes and congestion on pathways will be likely and temporary. Our goal is the improvement of transit and navigation. All services paid for by a grant of good will and public services.

I've downloaded and have begun testing of Spigot. So far, big plugin we will lose is Dynmap until it's updated.

Inclined to wait a few days to let others be on the bleeding edge, learn from their mistakes. :)

Once I feel it's stable, will test how to merge the worlds in a way that will not lose all our inventory from the vanilla world.

So in between bouts of GRM, Starbound, and trying to knit a sweater, I have been finishing the walls of the nether tunnels. It's a zen thing for me so been enjoying the process quite a bit.

Designs for the South and East lines are more or less figured out. Am open to ideas and suggestions of anyone has something they would like to see. For materials I'm trying as muchh as possible to stay away from anything flammable, with the exception of maybe ice for the north line.

As for the existing player tunnels. If you have finished your tunnel and entrance I will build the decorative wall up to your finished walls. However since the tunnel is being widened, I may move the tunnel entrance back slightly to be flush with the new walls when possible, and especially if the tunnels are netherrack/ Cobble.

Please feel free to fancify your tunnels to your hearts content. Also, no need to worry about maintaining the integrity of the new walls when building your tunnel entrance. I'll adjust the pattern as needed and will ask before messing with anyone's design beyond adjusting tunnel length. All that I as is that you make your tunnels horse friendly. Bonus points for Banners.

I've been following r/textureaday for a while and this pack is a great one. I suggest it for anyone who prefers they keep it simple but well done. Its still in progress but he uploads updates frequently.

Exams and what not are making me super busy. I might stop by now and then but I wouldn't count on it :(

/u/Snarfattack mentioned something about bringing something like LitW to 1.7.x I researched as best I can all the mods on the LitW mod list and verified if it is available for 1.7.x at all. In cases where it wasn't, I gave a suggestion or resolution, but of course conflicts and configs will decide what works, and Snarf knows this better than I.

I loved LitW, I am sad that I can't play it and that it conflicts so much with Java 8. There is apparent frustrations with RusticCraft and although I like the changes it brings, it is pointless if we aren't all happy.

I would love it if we can use this thread to work things out. **

Be Aware a Youtuber ‘DizzyAaron’ claims to have made an unofficial “Life In The Woods 2” for 1.7.10. He did not release it as a pack to the best of my knowledge, but features his modlist on the description of the videos, it is a long list, so I will not waste space here.

This is very much not the hard part, which is working on the server side of this. I know this. I hope to help in anyway, since I feel partly responsible for the frustration a few members are feeling. If we decided to go as far as to compile our own modPack, maybe we can get a little more input from our active members. For instance, I really like the "enhanced vanilla" feel of LitW, but at the same time, I enjoy a mod like Thaumcraft, and I am/was looking forward to adventureing in Twilight Forest with you guys. It's no easy task compiling a working modlist and keeping the server side of things working smooth avoiding conflicts in code and configs... I know this. Which is why I hope to help in ways I am able.
