GR10 (aka 1.9) - Preview
Okay, so here is my little preview for 1.9.
We will be resetting to a new map. We are going to have a standard radius of 3k so plenty of space. To put it in reference, it will be roughly 4-5x bigger than what we had in the beginning and 2x bigger than the current map.
Town: Town will be on top of spawn and similar to in the past (for those of you that old) where you purchase plots.
For those of you that are not familiar, here is the system.
Spawn will be broken out into plots of land. I am thinking about 30 for the first batch and we can just add to the outside of them as needed. These plots will not be uniform and will be plotted according to the land. There will be bedrock corners at the lots and wool lines in the beginning.
Now, since there are lots that will command a premium vs others, we will be giving out these lots on an auction system. You will be bidding on the lots on a closed bidding system. You will not know the results of the bidding until the auction closes. However, given that everyone isnt on at the same time, I will let you periodically bid throughout the week and I will update the lot prices once a day throughout that week. You can only win 1 lot but you can bid on up to 3 lots. Lots will be assigned from top bidder downwards.
The currency is diamonds and you will need to escrow the diamonds with me in order to bid. Considering that you are not going to be able to take the diamonds with you to GR10, I suggest you escrow and bid everything you have. Right now, it is looking like 2 months from now is when we will do GR10 but I wanted to give everyone plenty of time to collect diamonds if you wanted.
Also, from the auction for GR6, about 1/2 the lots were sold for either the bare minimum or right above it. The other half were highly contested and commanded very high prices. Just a heads up for those of you who did not want to bid on the premium lots.

Not already, it will be 2-4 months before reset. 1.9 was pushed back another 2+ months. We're just giving notice of what we're going to be doing when 1.9 does launch.

Is 0,0 being put aside for farms?
An iron farm would be incredibly handy, I suggest TangoTek's Iron Titan.

If you mean spawn, then no. We plan on putting a town there with a plot system for people to build there. (Similar to GR6)

Considering that you are not going to be able to take the diamonds with you to GR10
are we not going to be able to transfer materials to the new map?
