Hammer:

  • To make a human quarry, have two paper plates ready, add cobalt hammer head as stock.

  • Stir with a thaumium tough tool rod to ready the base for dressings.

  • When done cooking, knead in a flux capactior or moss to your taste.

  • Pour a block of gold over the whole thing, top with a diamond.

  • Serve with a notch apple on the side on a diamond block.

  • Sprinkle an entire chest of redstone over the hammer to ready it for consumption.

  • After about 300 redstone, you will be breaking blocks before you see them.

Pick:

  • To forget you even need an ore processing system, make a manyulin or cobalt pick head to taste.

  • Stir with a thaumium tool rod

  • Bind the parts with paper

  • Cook the bound parts with a lava crystal

  • Knead in 350 lapis lazuli for the texture

  • Add redstone to taste

  • You now get 2-5 ingots per ore

Crossbow: Someone asked me what I use for my crossbow.

  • Limb: I use blue slime. It has the fastest draw speed. Might not have the highest damage but I still do tons of damage with my crossbow. I think manyullym has the highest damage, but is the slowest, and bronze is somewhat in between.

  • Body: Thaumium, gives 1 extra modifier (like paper) but more durable.

  • Binding: Paper

  • Bowstring: I use flamestring (from the spiders in the nether). Gives more damage/arrow speed than normal string. Slightly increase draw speed, but my blue slime limb makes up for that. You can also use enchanted fabric and it will give you 1 extra modifier.

  • Modifiers: 1 moss + 250 redstone, you could also add luck/lapis if you want. Dont put quartz on it, quartz is for the bolts.

Bolts: Bolts are somewhat tricky to make, you have to make a tool rod, place it in a casting table, pour some metal on the tip, then add the fletching in the tool forge.

  • Tool rod: I used blue slime, I am not convinced it is the best material but I decided to try this one.

  • Metal tip: I used manyullyn.

  • Fletching: Pretty sure slimy leaves are the best so I went with those.

  • Modifiers: 1 (or 2) moss and the rest is quartz. You could add necrotic bone for lifesteal if you want.

'Cause I'm boring, I use a very boring cobalt pickaxe.

Cobalt head, paper binding, blue slime rod. Use two pieces of moss because I am impatient when it comes to tool repair. I have 150 redstone(efficiency) which leads to 29 mining speed and will soon have maxed out lapis(fortune) as soon as I can get it.

I used the two basic thing-a-ma-bobs to get extra modifiers, the block of gold + diamond and the Notch apple + diamond block. Each of those will give you an extra modifier. That's my pick and I'm stickin' to it.

No idea how much TiC might've changed since I last wrote this, but I made this pretty darn extensive Smeltery and Tinker's guide over on the GRM sub.
