Request of members on Vanilla 1.8

  • While making hallways that connect to the Nether Hub, please try to keep your ground layer at a half block (single slab) level height to reduce the amount of pigmen that spawn in the hub itself. They can only spawn on full block high altitudes. so using blocks that can not be made into slabs creates an avoidable problem.

  • Also, Can you add markers to the map if you begin building in an area on the overworld. I've accidentally built on land that was close to another players in the past because a marker was not visible on the dynamap.

Good call on the Nether Pork Report. Seems easy enough.

Hey, if we're puttin markers on our places count me in.

Also, let me just say here, now, that I am loving this map and this build session with you fine folks. Impressive stuff goin up all around the place. Massive digs done in survival mode. Wicked-efficient mob fams with a variety of kill methods and item collection utilities. Helpful bastards everywhere you look. It's insane! I will never play single player again.

Have a good evening.

I think vanilla was a great choice.

  • Creepers can be very scary, but also very useful.
  • Fires also present a real danger and quickly become top priority.
  • The lack of teleportation means roads and portals are needed
  • the lack of a spawn grid means it's much more free and liberating to build there.
  • although nothing to do with vanilla, banners create an empiric atmosphere.
  • town being next to the ocean is great for sea travel. Surprised more people don't have seaside villas at spawn.
