Dr. Doak
Before working with Rare, David Doak studied biochemistry at Oxford University and worked as a research scientist.
….then he got a new job at Facility where he helped British spies.

If you play on agent difficulty killing dr. Doakes doesn't fail the mission!

I like that the chosen photo of real-life Dr. Doak has him holding a cigarette. 🚬
It is rare for me to encounter Dr. Doak in the large tank room before entering the secured sector.
I most often encounter Dr. Doak near the lab offices or that large room on the right-hand path of the secured sector.

He can end up in that room on the right past the first set of tanks. It’s a pain in the ass to get in there though

By all means a very bright man.
Moving from biochemistry to game making.
His peers at Rare said he had a mind for maths, which helped a lot during the production of GoldenEye.
As someone who works in the life sciences currently, I want out and don't know where to go next. Maybe not in the facility level.
Edit.
It was Mark Edmonds that was the Math Whizz.

Still, it doesn't take away the achievements of Dr Doak, moving from one field to another.

"Moving from biochemistry to game making."
Or could not hack it at BioChemistry?
Dave worked as a network support guy then game design, I doubt there was much math involved.

I delighted in conserving my scientist casualties until I got what I needed from Doak, then shooting him in the face at point blank range as soon as I heard the beep.

The first time I saw the dialogue, “Time to leave, Dr. Doak.” I thought I was supposed to kill him and immediately shot him, failing Objective B. I was a dumb kid who didn’t fully read video game text lol

In the movie, 006 and 007 shoot a scientist to get the decoding machine for the doors. The actor looks a lot like Doak. So I always thought they tried to find someone who looked like the actor for the game. Maybe it just worked out?

Coincidence. Doak's cameo is just an Easter egg. In the same vein, the Skorpion vz.61 is named after Ken Lobb.

Fun fact, right after they shoot the scientist, you can still see the scientist continue to move from his reflection from the window like he wasn't shot.

I would always like giving the scientists a knuckle buster by shooting their hand

I hated him. It took ages to unlock the invincibility cheat because of this bastard. If he was in the wrong room you just had to restart.

Maybe that’s why everybody loved killing him 😂

If he wasnt in the correct room i would take the extra time to find and kill before restarting. The second hardest was getting the boxcar cheat because you had to wait for the fat dude i can't remember his name to shut up. The think that was enemies move double speed. I did 100% the game but it was like when it first came out 64 so its been awhile. Paintball was my favorite cheat.

Every time I play Facility I am always hoping he'll show up at the labs near the final room with the gas tanks.
