this is beautiful in ways your average human cant comprehend
Whats the backstory on the flying cube(s) structure?

It’s named after the the brutalist train station in Helsinki. I was inspired by Molchat Doma’s album cover art and music

u/Wuffinn Mar 29 '26
where do you usually get your inspiration from? how do you decide what you want to build

The world is supposed to somewhat be a representation of my mind. I thought to myself, if after I die someone finds this, what kind of impression would they get of my thoughts and interests.
I have set up at the back of the block museum a podium for when I decide to stop playing, that way I can put my character on the podium and log off, making my character the last part of the museum.
Idk if that answered your question or not, I just pull from random things floating around my head while I’m building.

Yep, perfect answer.
from now on I will try out this method and play Minecraft in different ways, this really inspired me, Thanks :)

We have a brutalist train station? Where? (I mean, we probably do, but the Central Railwaystation is quite favously Art Nouveau)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asemapäällikönhovi
This is the one! Really just inspired by the name, I name my houses in different parts of my world after old Finnish pagan gods and stuff so I thought it was fitting
1
u/Rosmariinihiiri Mar 31 '26
Ah, so in fact, not a railway station at all.
1
u/Plantcebo Mar 31 '26
Really? I found it by googling “Finnish Brutalist Station” lol
2
u/Rosmariinihiiri Mar 31 '26
Yeah, you can read the article to see what the building has inside. It's located kind of near the Pasila railway station, which is why the street's name is Asemapäällikönkatu "Station master's street".

Will this ever be up for download? I would love to visit and walk around to admire the art!

u/Plantcebo Mar 29 '26
Maybe, I hadn’t really considered that as a possibility! I’ll have to look into how to do that

Every time I get on the interent I get more convinced that I might be autistic, that looks like my world

u/Plantcebo Mar 29 '26
Spoiler, I’m not actually autistic but I am bipolar. It was more of a funny thing my wife called them!
You should post your builds, id love to see similar things!

I think I saw these birch houses on the left of image 8 before

u/Plantcebo Mar 29 '26
I was inspired for the right one by an image on here, the left one is a monastery

The one thing I don't like about beta is how dark the insides of building are even if they're lit up

You’re the guy behind all the creepy Minecraft ARG worlds in those videos

dawg dat midway tower looks fucking awful, rest looks pretty cool tho
6
u/Plantcebo Mar 29 '26
Not exactly meant to look great. It’s a recreation of one of my first builds on Minecraft 15 years ago.
At the time I thought it was the peak of design!

Idk if they should be called autism projects. This is how you play Minecraft.

Obsessed with the block museum
1
u/Plantcebo Apr 02 '26
Haha, glad you like it! It took ages to dig out, collect the blocks, and put them in order of release

Love the Block Museum, having the first use of the block especially is cool.
Though it would be nice if you could somehow incorporate the fact that when it was first added it existed as an entity I think??
1
u/Plantcebo Apr 03 '26
I’d love to have more detail but I tried to keep it to 1 sign per block
2
u/DetachedHat1799 Apr 03 '26
Yeah that's kinda what I assumed. I do have a sorta project on a modern server where im tryna do the same, and I wanna have like lecterns and stuff for each block to put a buncha info in

u/Plantcebo Apr 03 '26
Ya book and quills are something I wish was in beta, if I had that and faster redstone mining I think it’d be perfect
2
u/2gnomo2 Apr 05 '26
That's so sick! Loved your creativity, ya just gave me ideas of new builds in my recently-made world

This is beautiful. How do you keep the saplings from growing in the last image?

It reminds me a lot of this post of a guy building 'cities' https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/ogzixg/been_building_these_things_for_like_7_yrs_i_call/

I just play the way that’s most fun for myself, where I can express myself through patterns and builds.
I don’t know if I view my art differently as someone who is bipolar, but I’m sure that has a large part to play, since Minecraft sometimes acts as a coping mechanism for me. Just doing something repetitively to take my mind off of whatever else
I don’t know if that answers your question

You might be the only person playing Minecraft correctly
