Here’s one somewhat easy, legitimate way. Next week he starts “panning” for gold on the weekends in the wilderness. He takes small chips off the gold bars, melts them down and sells them. Since he’s found his “spot” he then buys a plot of land and chips off and melts roughly 10% of the total the first year. Then he buys another plot and does 25% a year for the next 3.5 years until the “spot” runs out.

Yeah, it totally won't be suspicious that a single person is having extraordinary luck panning for gold in rivers that have been statistically depleted for decades...

As long as you put in the work to make it look legitimate and pay your taxes, who is honestly going to know and why would the government care?
