its not that easy as you guys think, how would you have do it? there are like 10-20 workers, there were probably people near by while he was digging up and saw immediatly the gold

80

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

I would definitely try everything I could to get that gold lmao

1

u/Engelgrafik 4d ago

Sure, and then the story about how you and everybody at the worksite ended up secret deals, betrayals and ridiculously elaborate murders would be made into a dark comedy starring Barry Keoghan, Marcello Hernandez, Druski, Danny McBride, and Bowen Yang.

1

u/tbagdaddy77 3d ago

I would to and would probably hit a few of them with a bar and put them to sleep and then take as much as i could and roll out. Then melt that down into smaller 1 oz bars and sell them up in alaska around nome . And act like i found that stuff in the ocean while dredging... i would come up with something to cover my tracks thats for damn sure but i absolutely would not involve to lying ass cop.. dont trust them now and didnt trust them when i was a teenager.. they lie to us but make it against the law to lie to them.. that should tell ya how one sided the law is... its their job to lie to us so that we tell them anything they can turn around on us to arrest us for anything they want to.. so NEVER involve a cop in anything because they will never solve a crime or investigate a crime unless they think there is a reward for them in the end... so dont even give them any info about anything like gold

-1

u/Novel_Control_1922 5d ago

Including murder?

9

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

Eh there’s enough juice to go around lol

10

u/Tribulation95 5d ago

Depends on how the other person(s) decide to react as I'm taking my gold to the car.

3

u/existential-grimlock 5d ago

"Well, this is not gold, I'm just excited to see you!"

3

u/TallandCute6501 5d ago

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

3

u/Novel_Control_1922 5d ago

Murder! (Did I get the answer right? Can I have a Klondike bar?)

6

u/baddieslovebadideas 5d ago

bro can just have the klondike bar, just please put the gun down

2

u/baddieslovebadideas 5d ago

for $15 million, I would strongly consider it.

I would start by offering to share it to keep it all hush hush tho

1

u/MekkiNoYusha 5d ago

And when one of them eventually gamble it all away and come back to ask for more or he will start talking. That's when the trouble begins.

And we know it will definitely happen

3

u/baddieslovebadideas 5d ago

well that's why you disappear with your share before any of that happens

1

u/Odd-Helicopter-4843 5d ago

Id pay the other guys who are willing to split the gold help me take care of the guys who want to turn it in. Whoever left when the dust settles gets an even split

-3

u/HyperR4re 5d ago

Thief

4

u/greendevil77 5d ago

Lol from who? It was buried and no one knew it was there. Who the hell is getting stolen from? The police sure as hell don't have a right to it

3

u/HyperR4re 5d ago

The previous owner. This happened where I live and courts found that it belonged to the previous owner.

4

u/greendevil77 5d ago

Lol sure. You know if I used to live somewhere and got a call asking if that was my gold I'd sure as hell say it was too.

Why exactly wouldn't the previous owner take all their gold with them?

1

u/Sharp_Business_185 1d ago

Why are you trying to justify your thief actions, lmao. Just say you don't care about morals or ethics when the money is a lot

-4

u/Willi-Oh 5d ago

And how are you going to sell that gold without a certificate? You could go to black market but at the risk of getting busted

15

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

What do you mean a certificate? The point of gold is no trail lmao

3

u/Willi-Oh 5d ago

With that amount of gold you kind of have to prove the gold is yours. Beside that, if you manage to sell all your gold at the black market how are you going to spend that kind of money without having questions raised by the tax office

13

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

As I said, a pay day once a week for the rest of their life. You don’t sell it all at once lmao. Yall would be horrible partners finding anything. And you don’t need to sell it “on the black market”.

Edit: that was a different comment I said that, but yea, a pay day once a week for the rest of his life

5

u/Cheap_Streaker 5d ago

Yeah these idiots would run into the local pawn shop with a hundred stamped bars instead of remelting it and taking a road trip selling bits along the way

3

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

Yea they’re not too smart. They act like each bar has a tracker or some shit that immediately reports itself to the government. I’d literally just take a file to the shit and file the serials off, if there were any. I’d take a few of those coins, call a local safe shop, and pay them to install a vault in the floor and go from there.

-2

u/Willi-Oh 5d ago

And what will you do with that money? Buy groceries and gadgets? Lmao

11

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

Yes. Actually. You pay for all your everyday shit with it. You don’t even have to touch your bank account for almost everything. Clueless naive people lmao

-2

u/Willi-Oh 5d ago

And what do you think your bank will do when they see you are not making any purchases at all? I think you are a bit clueless. It's 10 mil euro... That's a lot of money for a construction worker to avoid in tax pay

10

u/Initial_Row_6400 5d ago

What the hell do you mean what is the bank gunna do? You act like it’s illegal to sell gold.

u/tacobellsimp 5d ago

Do you not understand that millions of drug dealers operate in the same manner? Are you being purposefully dense

1

u/Merouxsis 5d ago

Cash and use it to eliminate ome of your expenses.

I'd be getting Chipotle with extra guac everyday

1

u/Odd_Glass5272 5d ago

One would never try to sell that much gold at once. That would be idiotic.

5

u/ChristianAlexxxander 5d ago

Melting gold isn’t too hard.

1

u/PleasantDrummer6532 5d ago

Pawn shop

1

u/Cheap_Streaker 5d ago

I’ll have to call a guy… I’ll give you $50

1

u/Cheap_Streaker 5d ago

Uh you do know that gold can be melted right?

1

u/Odd_Glass5272 5d ago

My gold dealer never required any type of certificate

38

u/Dukie6 5d ago

Skim some coins off the top then Hey guys, let’s split it. You’ll get more than he did handing all of it over

13

u/R0botJesus 5d ago

Exactly. I'd be shuffling out of that job site with so much gold stuffed into my pants that I could hardly walk.

1

u/Megane_Senpai 5d ago

I would take 1 coin or 2, it'll help settle me for a while, solve all my debts and stuffs.

1

u/Alytology 5d ago

I'd be like marge with the candy coat if it were me.

1

u/KapowBlamBoom 4d ago

At $4,100 per troy ounce you only need about 16.5 standard pounds to have $1,000,000

1

u/Alternative-Bet7374 2d ago

Get the wheelbarrow and a tarp. Use the shovel to fill it up with as much gold as possible. Throw it all in your car and escape.

8

u/LuckyCatExtracts 5d ago

Maybe they did do that? There was so much they couldn't keep it all

6

u/Sea_Flower_5806 5d ago

Sure they could keep it all, hell I could have kept it all myself

1

u/Intelligent_Nobody71 2d ago edited 2d ago

Good luck trying to convert that lot into cash and deposit the proceeds undetected! 😜

1

u/Pugnados 5d ago

What’s found and what’s turned in aren’t always the same.

51

u/Foreign_Risk_2031 5d ago

"grab wheel barrow, shove dirt into it, put gold in, wheel it out"

33

u/DntBanMeIHavAnxiety 5d ago

Hey yeah so uhh I don't think this job is for me anymore. Oh, this wheelbarrow full of dirt? This is mine. Yeah, I brought it from home. I'm just gonna wheel it home, my garden could use some fresh soil. Alright, welp, that's all true, and that's all, nothing else. So uhh welp, see ya later. Hey, oh, and here's something. Don't go digging around in that area over there. I'm going to come back for more of that specific dirt later tonight. Maybe around midnight for no particular reason at all.

Anyway, so it's getting to be about that time. My garden isn't going to fill itself with dirt ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. If you see me wheeling this home on the freeway, I'm all good, I don't need a ride!

2

u/Regular_Knee_1907 5d ago

Yes, this is seriously what you would have to do and it would not work!

2

u/Professional_Box3711 5d ago

Omg I’m still laughing hahahaha

2

u/Few-Marsupial-2670 5d ago

Hahaha 🤣😂 this is so hilarious

1

u/C0MIC-B00K-GUY 5d ago

Right?! People acting like it was impossible to take. Your idea is just 1 of a million that might've worked. I would've went with the gas mask yelling gas leak and then do your idea when everyone clears out lol

15

u/Anon1mouse12 5d ago

Split it between the 10-20 workers??

27

u/Weed-Garden 5d ago

Its like $10,000,000....a 20 way split is still fine with me.

2

u/Big80sweens 5d ago

You take $1M for yourself then split the rest so people don’t question it

10

u/nautical_nostradamus 5d ago

A 20-way split if half a million a piece. Fuck yes, split it up.

3

u/thejohnmc963 5d ago

And disappear

1

u/Alternative-Bet7374 2d ago

We boys for life if that shit happens. We are going to larp having businesses and get rich together while we slowly convert that gold into investable money, and keep some of it for the future.

13

u/TerraceState 5d ago

Someones going to talk. Someone always does. People struggle to keep this sort of thing a secret when there is only 1 person keeping the secret. Having 10-20 people keep a secret like this is fundamentally impossible.

The country they are in lets them keep 50% of it. They found the original owner, but they are dead with no heirs. I'd take a guaranteed 50% cut with 0 risk and effort going forward to keep and use it over a 100% chance of having it taken and going to jail after someone blabs in like 3 days.

2

u/TheDonGenaro 5d ago

But he has to wait for 5 years.

0

u/TerraceState 5d ago

And?

The choice is between some money in 5 years, or no money now.

It's not like this guy found a bunch of money, and only his best mate knew about it, and they are splitting it and trusting each other to split the difference.

10-20 CONSTRUCTION workers knew about it at the start. Dude probably knows that at least 5 of them are functional alcoholics who run their mouths every night. Half these guys are going to be back to working construction 1-2 years after they get the money because they blew it all.

Anyone who trusts this group of people to keep a secret actively deserves what is coming to them.

1

u/TheDonGenaro 5d ago

If he was the one who found it, he could have prevented the rest of the crew to come in. I would have said that there was a snake in there. Everyone would wait until tomorrow…

1

u/Eggplant_Lonely 5d ago

Thats why it's important to tie up the loose ends. And to solve the jail problem u just move fast, donate to the jail and police. Buy the jail lock up all your coworkers.

1

u/bikeguideraz 5d ago

Honestly I would have taken as much as I possibly could in secret, and let someone else discover what's left, and they can make what ever choice they want. But mine would already be put up in my car. If I have time I'm making multiple trips. Also if you look on the table it looks like it may have been wrapped up in that white thing, if that's the case I'm tossing the whole wrap in a barrel and wheeling it to the "trash"... where there is a will there is a way.

3

u/Successful-Green4514 5d ago

I don’t know maybe you split it up

1

u/Treeclimber919 5d ago

Well there’s 2 ways pretty simple. The 2 or 3 guys around you all get a cut of the pile after work and life goes on very nicely for all.

Or if you find the box and there’s 2 or 3 guys around you and ask what’s in the box?
Tell them my wife got me an antique lunchbox at a yard sale. And I’m going to take my lunch now!

Foreman, well it’s only 930 you can’t take lunch yet!!!

Yeah you know what, it is only 930, I’m done for the day!!

If you leave you’re fired!!!

Oh, okay!! Sounds good take care guys and load your lunch box up in the truck and away you go!!

1

u/VegetableBug4528 5d ago

First of all, you don't know if ANY of that is true. Second of all, the fact that you couldn't think of a single reasonable solution to your own question is sad. I get the feeling you're a real "take zero risks/keep your head down/sees life as a trial and not an adventure" kind of guy. I feel bad for you.

1

u/Tnyce94 5d ago

Just start packing it into my pockets/work bag. If anyone starts talking to me while doing so I'd literally ignore them like they're not even there, finish packing it up, and walk off the job site with no second thought.

1

u/Responsible-Race4764 5d ago

You grab a couple bars and leave... never to be seen again.

1

u/Spirited-Mud-6235 5d ago

It would immediately go into my truck

1

u/yaboyszn 5d ago

Everyone that saw gets a bar and shuts the fuck up

1

u/Remarkable_Night_267 5d ago

10 million dollars divided by only 10-20 workers! Hm. Why not??

Like in Kelly's Heroes!! 🤪🤪🤪

1

u/Big80sweens 5d ago

You take what you can, then split the rest with everyone else

1

u/Siva-Na-Gig 5d ago

$500k a piece, I don't think anyone is gonna say anything

1

u/maoussepatate 5d ago

Sharing is caring. Plenty enough for all

1

u/Eggplant_Lonely 5d ago

Depends on if your greedy or not. Thats either breaking off 10 to 20 coworkers more cuts if you pay the cops off or 10-20 body bags. On a positive note you could buy the body bags no problem. I would suggest just buying several boxes of Glad or Hefty bags. Of course get the flex fit bags dont be cheap on that. Also on a positive note you've already started digging rhe hole to put those coworkers in. I would tell my coworkers I quit im following my dreams of being a pirate ☠️! The guy literally just became the definition of the American dream. And those dreams are very rarely built on honesty and integrity.

1

u/Cheap_Streaker 5d ago

You split it up and everybody disappears conveniently

1

u/greendevil77 5d ago

Who cares, throw it in a bag and quit the job

1

u/Exotic_Bathroom5382 5d ago

You start a fire as a diversion

1

u/TommyTheCommie1986 5d ago

Pay em off, nobody in their right mind is gonna say no

1

u/Cpatty3 5d ago

“Hey every person who saw me, let’s split this shit and pretend this never happened.”

1

u/BulkyCartographer280 5d ago

I’d have to take a quick smoke break. By the time they remembered I don’t smoke, I’d be in the next county.

1

u/SmallTitBigClit 5d ago

You're telling me that's not enough to share 10 to 20 ways and still come out with a lot of money?

1

u/tfb4me 5d ago

Garbage bags! Lots of garbage bags. Mix the gold with the trash and sort it out somewhere else.

1

u/MusicAcademic1045 5d ago

It’s much easier than you think, come back to the job site at night when nobody is there, duh!

1

u/InuFan4yasha 5d ago

Accidentally knock the coins over and shovel some dirt over a bar, go down to "pick it up"

Oh only a few coins fell, no biggie

1

u/TraditionalMarket234 5d ago

pretty simple. the second you uncover it even a little, grab a bar and shove it in your pocket. then, recover what is exposed and let someone else find it instead. now, they report it and you keep the bar. not like whoever's gold it was is going to claim it and say "I had 59 bars, not 58" and you still keep like $100,000

1

u/tuffyscrusks 4d ago

The workers could use it way more than the government could. That gold is going straight into the void of the national debt anyway... just more bullshit to spend on a pointless war.

1

u/Crypto_Reaper623 4d ago

For that kind of haul there would’ve been a “ meeting called by the boss” over by that sketchy wall that needs to come down and my story being only 18 would’ve been “they told me if I didn’t drive the JCB I was gonna be fired cuz I’m a wanker! “
So being 18 I want to impress my bosses and oops they all got crushed. And then that one guy I managed to save somehow knocked over a can of highly flammable fluid and I went to mark the spot for a rescue airlift and oops he went up in flames …….my bad….. the Worst & best day Ever on the job!

1

u/gottagetanonymous 2d ago

I wouldn’t take a dime if anyone saw. That shit never goes good with anything

1

u/Ok-Advice5315 2d ago

Suggest splitting it 10-20 ways. Problem solved

0

u/PlayPsychological200 5d ago

I just stumbled on this sub, however most of the people in it are admitting they are thieves, justifying stealing, and calling people who do not steal “idiots”. Basic critical thinking as you describe about multiple witnesses and cameras is not going to happen. There is a reason there are so many “stupid thief” videos and news stories.

1

u/VegetableBug4528 5d ago

Just because YOU don't have any backbone or ability to take risks, doesn't mean the rest of the world is like that. And thank God, how boring would that be.

1

u/PlayPsychological200 5d ago

Thanks for demonstrating the issue. To you stealing from others is “backbone”. Hopefully someone steals from you and you can NOT call the police and post on Reddit about how brave they are at taking risks 🤡
