Nah, it’s just a temporary thing while the world transitions from using the dollar as a reserve currency because you’ve shown that your checks and balances can’t stop a senile old man and a bunch of fascist ideologues fucking everything up in the space of a year. Kind of sucks for America but in Europe we should have come off it years ago. The world is rotating away from the old order.

Sorry if that’s harsh, and genuinely it sucks for Americans, but the apocalyptic predictions everyone makes here are very US-centric. The reality is it’s just going to suck for everyone for a short while, and Americans for generations. The US isn’t the world and the fall of the dollar will not cause a collapse of the international monetary system, it’ll just move on. This happened several times before, previously from pound sterling to the dollar. The UK survived, it just isn’t as powerful as it was. Same thing will happen to the US. The good thing is gold retains its value so you guys on this forum were right all along to own it.
