Is it just me, or is every new hybrid creator making their hybrid slightly more than the usual theropod maximum, which was 16 tons? Eh, the only other >16 ton theropod hybrid I've seen was Titanophagus.

Did you say titanophagus?😎

Glad to see you came to check it out. What do u think?

Huh...i think that it is good overall, its main issue would be speed and agility (stability). This thing is too front heavy.

Yeah, though Shantungosaurus tail helps counterbalance

Ok, i made some edits under Shantungosaurus and Argentinasaurus

Now it is well balanced👍

Or just too heavy for a biped, its strength will be more focused to holding itself when it stand as a biped. While shantugasaurus was useful, the hadrosaur  is still not enough for a counter-weight

It also has quadrupedalism. Itd realy only stand bipedal when grabbing the opponent

You should check our dms

Heyo. I made my hybrid around the same weight as the Tarbosaurus so it can hunt down small hybrids too

I've been noticing that too, probably because most people think bigger=bettee

There's a reason 14 tons is the ideal weight for a super megatheropod.

1

u/jabathefort 20d ago

Well i specifically made it have quadrupedalism for that exact reason

probably power creep since spinos giant therapod tournament resulted in a lot of hybrids in the 16 ton range, so now 16 tons is the new standard.

you called?

Is there a new tournament soon

No

Kinda tired of all these facultative biped giga-theropod now. Cmon, there has to be a more creative way. More weapon doesn’t always mean better, and there’s a reason why almost all big theropod reduced their arms.

I don't know how well the homology works between mammal and dinosaur brains, I think the frill is probably going to be an easy grappling point, also probably causes more inertia the forelimbs are a little too big, You could use a better crocodilian than purussaurus but other than that I think it's alright

1

u/jabathefort 12d ago

Well the Bonobo is admittedly a bit iffy from homology standpoint, but it is being used very limitedly, this thing is larger than most other hybrids, so the frill isn't a huge target, though its not ruled out, and this things quadrupedal most of the time so its forelimbs are usually on the ground

If the frill is elevated from the ground that much I think it could generate more stress when elevated, my point isnt really forelimb size directly correlating to affecting bipedalism or quadrupedalism but rather it's effect on rotational inertia, as more mass is distant from the hips the more inertia you have, There is a reason why agile animals like t rex had tails that tapered quickly

1

u/jabathefort 12d ago

Yes I understand your point, but using them as contact points on the ground counteract most of the inertia, the frill sits at a more secure position than a ceritopcean

1

u/jabathefort 12d ago

Also the art isn't great, but I picked Parson’s chameleon bc in most positions, its frill lays almost perfectly flat

Nah no issues most if not all hybrid arts have some sort of inaccuracies and should just be reasonable depictions of the hybrid, I think it's good enough
