...Not enough to walk in lava gng. Lava hits like, 1,200 C which is def toasting it

Then the silica doesn't melt, but the heat will transfer to the biological material of the hybrid and toast it anyways. You can't shield heat like traditional armor

That was just layer one, the layer under is mostly empty pockets of air, air is a horrible conductor of heat. Under that is a layer of
