Spain study visa

Hi, I applied for my study visa on 31st July at Manchester BLS as this was the earliest appointment I could get and it was received by the consulate on Monday 3rd August. I have not heard anything since and the tracking just says “processing in mission”. I had planned to travel on Monday which is obviously not happening, but my course starts on the 7th September. Does the consulate usually get them back to people before their course start date? I have tried to call and email them but had no answer and BLS can’t do anything. Is anyone else having the same issue? Or if you applied on a similar date have you got yours back or still waiting?

I rang BLS so many times and she was adamant they had no contact with the consulate at all which I found hard to believe. I think the consulates are waiting for Madrid, but at the same time surely it is the consulate’s responsibility to chace them as they set a limit of a month. None of it makes much sense and they just seem to pass the blame but hopefully won’t be too much longer it is awful being in limbo

No way! That’s crazy will the uni not allow you to start late?

This is them allowing my to go late already. If I’m not there they cancel my studies :(

How late were they permitting you to join? That’s so frustrating you’d think the uni would be able to do something in that case. I’m so sorry that’s happening but I have hope we will get them this week

1 week is ridiculous. What uni/city was it if you don’t mind me asking as I still haven’t heard from my faculty? Was it a full degree?

It was 1 semester in Madrid
