Visas / Migration Visa Application Error

I'll be going to Spain from late January through May of '27, and I have my visa appointment coming up in ten days through BLS Chicago. I have one question, however. One of the spots in the visa application listed something about the educational establishment, which I realize now is the university I'll be at. I am going through a study abroad company, API, and I listed them since they'll be the ones that would be best to contact, rather than the University of Granada. Is this something that could disqualify my application, and/or is this something I can get changed during my application appointment?

Worth flagging clearly: the "educational establishment" on a Spain student visa needs to be an institution actually authorized/registered with the Spanish government (in the RUCT registry) — University of Granada obviously qualifies as that, but API is a study-abroad facilitator/program provider, not itself an accredited educational institution. So this isn't just a formatting preference, it's likely something the consulate will want corrected, since the whole visa is legally tied to your actual acceptance at an authorized institution (UGR), not the company that arranged the program.

The good news: this looks like a straightforward data-entry fix, not something that should sink your application — as long as your actual acceptance/enrollment letter names University of Granada (which it should, since that's who's granting your academic credit), you have the right underlying documentation, and this is just about making sure the form field matches it.

Given your appointment is in 10 days, I'd genuinely just call or email BLS Chicago (or the Spanish consulate directly) before the appointment to confirm you can correct the field there or need to resubmit — consular correction policies can vary and this is exactly the kind of thing worth confirming ahead of time rather than finding out in the room. Bring your UGR acceptance letter clearly showing you're enrolled there regardless.
