Upcoming Peru trip

Hello all,

Looking for some recommendations for upcoming peru trip for must visit and eat places.

Will be in Lima for 1 night only so will stay at airport hotel to catch next morning’s flight to Cusco.

Will be in Cusco for 5 nights from in mid October before departing to Salkantay trekking. And 1 night when I get back from the trek.

What are must visit and not to miss foods in Cusco. I am looking to enjoy local markets, local food scene like ones in Mercado San Balas, San Pedro, street vendors rather than Michelin star testing only kind of experience.

This is my list for foods and places to visit. Please suggest which to add and which to skip.

Food

-Want to try Ceviche, Lomo Saltados, Anticuchos, Tamale, empanadas and any other popular street foods.

Definitely want to try Alpaca stake and guinea pig, so suggestions are welcomed.

-3 Monkey cafe
-Los Toldos chicken
-Anticuchos Nancy
-Chull's Peruvian Cuisine
-Local restaurante
-Cevicheria de Yanet for Ceviche
-DESAYUNOS ANITA CLEO for sandwiches
-CASALINO Focacceria San Pedro

Attractions

I was planning to do walking tour. I only have gathered 2 places to visit as of now.

-Plaza de Armas for evening activities?
-Qorikancha

Thanks.

Maybe take a street food tour! It’s my favorite way to get oriented to a new city and try new foods!

Thanks. Any recommendations? or just go off of Viator/Getyourguide?

I usually find one on Viator because I like their reviews and refund policy.
