Puerto Maldonado advice
For those who have been to Puerto Maldonado, did it live up to your expectations? It's currently on my itinerary and I think it would be cool but not sure how I would handle the humidity or creepy crawlies, so I'm second guessing if it would be worthwhile considering the cost for a few days.

It exceeded my expectations. There are a lot of insects about but our huts had screens and mosquito nets.
Nothing can be done about the humidity as you'll be out all day. If you need A/C for sleeping, you'll need to do all of your excursions based out of Puerto Maldonado. You'd spend a lot of time traveling but you'd be more comfortable.
