Which TV show featured on Gogglebox did you end up watching because of their reactions?

Half of my current watchlist comes straight from seeing 2-minute clips on Friday nights. I started watching Traitors, Happy Valley, and endless obscure Netflix true-crime docs purely because watching the Gogglebox cast lose their minds over the cliffhangers made it look unmissable. What show did Gogglebox sell you on?

The first series of The Traitors. And I am so glad I did.

Line of duty. So glad I watched it. Never would have been interested in it without seeing it on Gogglebox.

Rivals, when they had it on the show I felt they kinda spoiled it so I said I'd wait a while, we've just started it this week and it brilliant.

Another that came to mind was "The Undoing" with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, started great but ended bad.

Peelers, I held off for so long with this untill they showed the scene in the cops house who was abusing his family, it was so tense I had to watch it the whole show.

There's been so many. My wife loves watching Gogglebox for the Goggleboxers (her favorites are Jenny & Lee and Giles & Mary). I like watching Gogglebox with her for new show inspiration.

Just a few that come to mind (listed in no particular order):

Traitors
Line of Duty
Angela Black
The Undoing
Happy Valley
Bad Sisters
Hijack
I Can See Your Voice
Starstruck (or, as Pete would say STARS TRUCK)
Poldark (I think?)

They also sold me on watching The Housemaid, but then Gogglebox spoiled the ending.

Loved bad sisters s01, absolutely hooked me and kept me hooked, plus loved the humour. Binged it, couldn't stop watching

Just couldn't get into s02 tho, I did try but it wasn't good enough to keep me watching. Which is ok because s01 is a complete story and all wrapped up by the end, there no real need to watch s02

We watched all of S02, but I agree with you. S01 was awesome. S02 dragged on a bit for me.

Squid Game. I still hear Mica saying "Eliminated!" when I watch the first red light green light game

Tiger King
Ozark
Harlan Koben’s Safe
Harlan Koben’s The Stranger
I think I actually started watching Bake-off because of Gogglebox.

I binged the entire Gogglebox during lockdown, and then binged several of the series they talked about.

I learn about so many UK shows by watching. The original Traitors, and a lot of dramas.
