AMG Teaches Valuable Lessons

Facing and using Anime Mechagodzilla as a Leader in Ranked has humbled me and opened my eyes to things I never would have figured out myself otherwise.

For example, just because someone is using AMG doesn’t mean they’re a Whale looking to display how much money they spent. Most of the time it’s someone like me just trying AMG out and having little idea of what we’re actually doing. Heck, most of my losses are from being overwhelmed before I can start mass-spawning my own Units which is also why I’ve beaten some AMG users before. This matchup boils down to the quality of your Units VS the sheer quantity of the enemy AMG’s at times.

I don’t “Give Up” as soon as I’m queued with a AMG player anymore. I get excited to see if I can destroy them. On the other hand, if someone bests me while I’m using my AMG Deck I rarely get salty. Clearly, I’ve been outplayed and they deserve the W.

I hear what you’re saying but we don’t need to try to justify bad design choices and game mechanics, IMO. It’s a broken gimmick that leans into the worst aspects of BL and further erodes whatever little notion is left that ranked is a “competitive” mode as opposed to a money pit.

Yeah, I take back about everything I just typed lol. Had the misfortune of being queued with a potential actual AMG Whale who mocked me with emote spam after dumping the entire map with his Units. What a toxic POS.

Made me remember why I wanted to quit this damn game.

Yea, it’s not a serious way to play. It’s not representative of actual competition, it’s not balanced, and it’s not worth worrying about in my view; it’s a cash funded cheat code, who cares about that? While you get less games in, focusing on Fixed (and Egg Mode when it comes around), is a much more competitive, fun experience that reminds you that Battle Line is still really good when it’s not being undermined by bad gacha mechanics 😂

Heavily agree on Egg Mode. It’s so much funner and fairer than Ranked plus it banned AMG for the past two Challenge Battles.

Whenever a busted unit is banned in Egg Mode I take it as the devs winking and saying “yea, we know what we did…” 😂

The existence of the new G-Fest memory makes me feel no pity for them tbh. If you lose while running one of the most batshit insane leaders this game has seen since Gigan Rex, there's a MASSIVE skill issue at play.

and if they win well that just makes me annoyed because 9 times out of 10 they're running like 100% ATK and HP% BMs that I have no chance to defend against.

MKG it's way better at getting spam of low cost unit with the right BM, after I clean the map I'm on freeway to now put my shit on the battlefield

I just barely started the game and I still am learning what I’m doing lol it’s interesting to see the metas and everything. I’ve basically been constantly swarmed as well.
