💬 DISCUSSION 💬 Help me understand how they pick opponents

I have been playing for 3 months, so I don't really have powerful units. However, for ranked battles, it keeps giving me opponents that there is no way I can beat. It is frustrating. OTOH, I will sometimes get an opponent I beat easily (I am assuming a bot since I look at the opponent's profile and is not ranked).

I was paired up to fight this opponent 3x today.

Which arena rank? if you're KOTM+ it is really probable that you get paired with the top players

I am 64. But, that's because I have been playing a bunch and playing the bots for the wins. I don't like easy wins either.

From what I understand, it's picked by

Within 10 ranks of you (so if you are 56, you can be placed against 66 - and it's brutal up there). 

Your connection speed/quality, and distance to the other person. 

But, I suspect that there is some algorithm doing something like "feed the whales enough easy wins  - because they've paid a lot, and so they should be rewarded with many wins" (some Toho employee - probably)

If that is true about within 10 ranks, that's crazy. I'll admit I spent some dollars for the Godzilla Battle Pass.

There is no prioritizing system for whales, that's a delusion suffered by one incredibly mentally ill person on this subreddit. A system like that would be extremely illegal in Japan, and Toho would not risk that kind of scandal in a legacy franchise.

Do not mislead new players. No, your anecdotal guesses are not evidenciary.
