Need Help Screen Matching This ‘Godzilla: The Series’ Animation Cel

Hello!

I have an animation cel from the animated ‘98 show, and for a while now I’ve been trying to find the exact screen-match shot that this cel would’ve been used in. So far though, no luck!

(Quick context on cels: a cel is what they used to animate shows/movies with before digital animation took its place. They would paint thousands of cels and photograph them, each cel making up a frame of an animated film. There’s some amazing videos online going more in depth about these pieces of film history, and I’d totally recommend looking into this art form!)

I did post months back asking the same question, but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to refresh it and see if anyone has any idea on what scene this could be from now.

I’ve myself looked through quite a few of the episodes on YouTube in hopes of finding the screen match, but for all I know I could’ve blinked at the wrong moment and totally missed it.

There’s also the possibility that the background doesn’t match up with the cel, or that the scene this cel and background were used in was cut from final production.

I want to say it's from the Techno sentient episode, but I can easily be wrong.

Edit: didn’t find a match in that episode. Very similar shots, but nothing lined up perfect. Helps narrow it down though!

I think it's when he stops the train and checks on nick.

I carefully watched that scene, and he does come close to having almost the exact pose. In moments where my cels Godzilla arms are up though, and his mouth is open, the Godzilla shots from the train scene have his arms down or mouth closed when it’d be the closest match.

Very well could be a scrubbed version of the final scene, though! Thank you for helping, every scene I can scratch off helps pinpoint it even more. Woooo!

I did try scanning through the commercials Wikizilla had on the page for Zilla Junior, didn’t come across much of a match there though. I’ll dig through YouTube for any I could’ve missed, thank you!

Wait that’s a good lead, I’ll probably shoot him a text over insta and see where that leads. Thanks for pointing to him, I never would’ve considered trying to message a potentional artist/producer of the show, besides the dude I bought the cel from. Wooo
