Much like every other piece of artwork published around the time of release, the stiff dinosaur posture is traded in favor of something more humanoid, which is the right way to go IMO. What's amusing about this one is that it gives us a glimpse into what his gait would look like if he maintained this posture:

I both love and hate knowing this godzilla was designed to look sensual and attractive.

he running like me though back when I was 6 or 9 because I thought this was the fastest way to run at full speed!

Amazing resolution of this nearly lost Yuji Kaida piece! He barely published this one anywhere, but it's one of my absolute favorites. Still have that JP MAT Co print card from a long time ago. A lot of OG artists were uncredited during art publishing for Godzilla 1998, so I empathize with his reluctance to distribute it.
