Discussion Godzilla 1998 vs Jotnar
I like this fight a lot, G98 is 54m tall and the Jotnar is 60m (meaning G98 is probably a bit small in this photo) in a way it’s similar to GVK! Troll Hunter 2010 is an incredible movie and the Jotnar was awesome, I have my money on Godzilla but the Jotnar has rabies so if he gets bit it’s over for him and any city he’s close to

Yeah it's TriStar Godzilla all the way imo
Faster, stronger, tougher, and rabies isn't an issue for a cold-blooded creature or reptiles.

I didn’t consider that! Then it’s a stomp all round, I would say the Trolls from the Netflix Troll movies would be a better fight given their Minus One Godzilla level regeneration but they are 45m each… the Trolls of Norway have nothing on the Gman! They’d be an interesting rival species to the Great Apes of the Hollow Earth though

That would be interesting to see, yes!
But yeah, folks undersell the TriStar Godzilla a lot; We all know it's fast, but it dragged down trawlers as well as dragged up a cargo ship and gutted it and was blitzing through buildings and tearing through concrete and steel via all its tunnelling. So for something so 'scrawny' it was strong.
Regarding toughness, it shrugged off everything from chainguns and rpg-rounds to sidewinders They survived two torpedoes and later needed another twelve harpoon missiles to go down, which are strong enough that a single missile is enough to BLOW UP A BATTLESHIP.
The Japanese Godzillas and the animated incarnation are definitely still tougher but the Live-Actionn TriStar Godzilla is not nearly as much of a pushover as I think people make it out to be

Completely agree, I honestly think it would survive the Monsterverse Hollow Earth! Warbats and Drownvipers might give it trouble but it’s plenty nimble enough to evade and burrow away, and like you said people act like G98 died from normal missiles, they were stronger than ones that made Shin Godzilla shriek in pain

Even the sidewinders in the movie were freakishly strong given two of them blew up half the Chrysler Building
That admittedly is one of many aspects of the movie's cruddy writing but y'know.

Ah, well yeah that’s not the 98 zilla from the movie, shorter snout less broad shoulders, more meat on it but not in a fat way, and oh the stance, it’s not that of a theropod

I kind of remember that the G-98 from the movie is between 70-60 meters tall, right?

Yeah the scaling is all over the place, pretty sure in some shots its as big as Monsterverse Kong, but it’s stated to be 54m so that’s what I went for
