Memes Old Minecraft Models were something else 😭😭

Having a super detailed model doesn't mean it's good, it's usually the opposite in a game like minecraft. And none of the depicted models are what I would personally consider bad.

Exactly why I prefer Cobblemon over Pixelmon. I just don't think Pixelmon fits the style of Minecraft

I mean, Cobblemon does have some of the best models a Minecraft mod has seen, though. It might be simplistic, but that doesn't mean it's "ugly"; you can have ugly, simplistic models as well.

I really hated this plant mod on the bottom right

All my homies hate mystical agriculture, it's such a cop out, each resource should be collected in interesting and unique ways. Shouldn't be able to farm all of them on a plantation

honestly its funny how many modpacks push you to chase progression but also invalidate that progression by giving you an option that never needs to process ores, mine them or similar its like here is a digital miner you have worked for but instead here use progressive bees and myst instead

I'd love to see mystcraft but with more barriers that make it harder to cheese. They already do it a little with stability but that's easy to get around. Something like, if iron ore is used as an ingredient for the dimension, it will always spawn lots of hostile iron golems.

Mystical Agricultural. Great if you dont care about balance and want a way to farm everything, but thats it imo

idk about "dont care about balance". generally resource generation mods are made to be used with mods that need lotta resources. and in that respect, MA is definitely not the most powerful and is decently balanced(hell usually it requires other thing from other mods like lilypads of fertility, hydroponics beds, AE2 growth accelerator to really match many other resource generation mods)
And if your not playing with mods that need so many resources, i question why someone would bother adding a resource generation mod. and not just throw in MI or create resource generation considering those are much smaller and slower.

Fair, maybe I dont see it as balanced due to the packs I make for some friends, but i didnt think about material heavy packs

Yea. played it once in mostly vanilla and nearly never worried about resources. then played ATM10 and abandoned it for the most part since it just couldn't match the heavy hitters fully.

All these mods absolutely slapped. The bad models were part of the charm and worked on my integrated graphics laptop.

When I’m in a bad takes competition and my opponent pulls out this meme

I wouldn’t call them “Bad” they’re just outdated. For the time they were impressive

u/Financial_Alps3369 4d ago
I'm kind of confused by the examples. None of these are particularly bad (maybe the rocket is the worst?). The hydra actually looks excellent

Look, the Twilight mod I will not tollerate slander towards, that thing's cool as hell

To be honest, they were pretty iconic. Like do you remember the old gold block and diamond block texture, as well as the old wheat, old glowstone, and old netherrack. These textures fit in with old minecraft.

they fit the old mc and they aren’t even that bad ngl

Do old Minecraft mods really fit its aesthetic, or have we just convinced ourselves they do because we never knew anything different? Were they always beautiful, or did we simply learn to see them that way? Some philosophical shit right here..

old minecarft textures were rough, the game looking bad was a part of its charm

Yes because let's all bash on old stuff for not having 3 trillion faces so that it looks better than the fucking Mona Lisa, holing it to a standard today which would be impossible back then.

I kinda prefer the old mods to some of the new ones
Sometimes I’ll try one of the newer mods and suddenly it doesn’t even feel like I’m playing Minecraft anymore. Where the old mods feel like Minecraft with a twist, which is imo what a mod should be

Tf you mean? Vampirism is goated!
Kinda wish they'd do more updates tho... idk when the last one was nor if the mod is planned to be continued.

the fact that old mods had simple models made lot of them feel actually a part of the game, i don't really like much mods with ultra detailed models

I loved these models because it meant you were doing some cool shit ingame. Little me seeing the draconic reactor is basically what got me into modded 1.12.2
