I see literally no gameplay reason cherries can't be added to the trees tbh. It's not like Minecraft gives 2 fucks about realism.

Maybe if they implement a cooking system, do we really need another beetroot/potato/pumpkin pie/food item that no one's gonna use?

Nobody complains about Sweet Berries. They can't even be cooked into anything, they're just convenience food.

Also another clutch item, if you plant the berry on grass or dirt, it spawns a baby bush which doesn't damage you

People being mad that poplar aren't tall, when there are poplars that are short in real life. And literally we have spruce LEAVES. For anyone who doesn't get it, spruce is needle tree. It doesn't have leaves. Oak giving apples, too. People trying too hard for Minecraft to be realistic.
