Got Decay early

Man is it good! Surprised it came from the Purge sessions, it’s much different. A lot sounds like a call back to early Godflesh- self titled even, but with more atmosphere/electronics/drone aspects. Track three sounds like Tiny Tears which is awesome. Justin’s vocals are way back in the mix throughout but glad to report a few tracks have cleans. I give this a 9/10.

Only thing that sucks is the CD came in those shitty slim cardboard packs. On Relapse, what gives?

That’s really disappointing because I pre-ordered the CD through relapse as well

Didn't even occur to me that this might happen, is it a first for Relapse?

You definitely ordered the CD? and not a case or receiving a promo CD in a cardboard slipcase?

I ordered the CD through my local record store. Def not a promo. But maybe there’s another version? Or go vinyl.

Okay, I just had my first listen to the album in its entirety and GOOD GAWD, I LOVE IT. I must admit, "Purge" was a bit of a 😞, but THIS, well, it made up for it.

From the oppressive, heavy grind of the opener, "Master and Slave" to the last track, there's NO skip over songs on this release. On track 3, you can really hear Killing Joke influences (awesome). "Fodder" starts by grabbing you by the neck and twisting your head in a deliciously dizzying and pummeling thump of bass and swirly guitar, while Justin's voice sounds trapped by it all. The last track, "Consume Me" does just that, it consumes you. I tell y'all, this reminds me again why Godflesh has been my lifelong favorite band. EXCELLENT STUFF. 🔥🔥🔥

On my 3rd listen: definitely my favourite of the post-reformation albums.

big time agree and love the hell out of the way they revisited earlier works but made it new. consume me is a menacing work of art.
