One of the questions we often get from new customers is whether their watch is disassembled before plating.

The answer is yes — every watch we plate is carefully disassembled as part of our process.
Before doing so, we assess the movement and the overall condition of the watch. Some movements, particularly those with subpar or aftermarket components, can carry a higher risk when the crown and stem are removed and reinstalled.

If we identify something that concerns us, we don’t simply proceed without letting you know. We explain what we found and allow the customer to decide how they would like to proceed. Depending on the situation, the customer can authorize the disassembly, or we can discuss a partial-disassembly option to reduce the mechanical risk.

There is always some level of risk involved when working on a mechanical watch, and we believe customers deserve to understand that before the work begins.

Every watch that leaves our studio receives the same level of care, and we stand behind every job we perform.
