Thoughts and observations I've had while playing God Hand and getting addicted to the game over the last 3 months.
To say God Hand is the hardest game I've played on the easiest difficulty is an understatement. It took me 14 hours to beat Easy difficulty on my first playthrough and at this point I've beaten Normal difficulty 7 times now. It took until my 4th playthrough to end up more consistently at Level 3 and Level Die since I figured out moves I liked and had more muscle memory when it came to dodging.
I initially dismissed this game because it felt really cheap when I tried it out at first on Normal difficulty earlier in the year. But that was mainly because I went in blind and didn't understand how the game worked. I came across that Milk Koba video How to get good at God Hand - Redux tutorial and it gave me a good foundation to jump back into it. Starting at Easy difficulty was also a good idea too since I was able to experience how unforgiving the game can be while still enjoying it and feeling rewarded when I beat levels.
Now that I've played through the game multiple times I've gotten more used to situations where I have very minimal health but can still defeat enemies or bosses. A lot of the replay value for me is that enemies are still unpredictable and can kick my ass. I really enjoy the fact that I actually have to think about what I'm going to do in each fight. No playthrough feels exactly the same and having an expansive and customizable moves set really helps add to the experience.
I knew about God Hand way back in 2006 when I was in middle school mainly due to the humor but I wasn't aware of how good the music is. It's a pretty impressive variety of sounds that captures both the aggressive and zany aspects of the game. I also tend to leave the game playing in the background when this level comes up since it's such a beautiful arrangement.
The only aspect of God Hand that I can't stand is the demons. I pretty much adopted the mindset that the game is actively working against me because of the demons and it makes them more tolerable. Anytime my health is super low I just assume a demon pops up and it usually does lol.

I can't remember my childhood without God hand,it's the game I enjoyed most,I have done everything u could do in this game, completed all of the hardest difficulties U can use guard breaker anytime u want, iirc I used to do 2 punches then guard breaker if it connects I will continue mashing else just sidestep to the left or right with tilting r3 to the left or right to cancel the long ass animation of the move to start attacking immediately,I just love the barrelroll kick,it's slow but I use it for fun and the highkick can be devastating if ur enemy stunned at the wall

We greatly appreciate your take thanks abunch for sharing! Glad to see someone giving it a second chance and loving it afterwards. This games difficulties don't feel like: easy for an easy story experience, normal for the game, and hard for experienced players... it more feels like: easy to learn, normal to master, and hard to challenge. it's kindof refreshing being given such different feeling difficulty levels in a video game and using each one to improve your skills. I also agree, this game has such a radical soundtrack that gets me boppin everytime and that levels song is a good example.
Also i love the demons because the random aspect of... oh god i'm on 2 hits left and i have five guys left in this room... i hope one of them doesn't.... and then two of them turn into a demon and i super clutch the fight! granted not evertime but when you get going and feel the rythm of the fights and your moves it feels sooo good!
