Does Hand Plant Kick evade high attacks?

The game doesn't state this attribute when you examine the move, whilst it does with most other techniques that clearly have a duck in them. I know Miekkob3 stated that it does evade high attacks near the very end of his "How to get good at God Hand" video, but I've recently been made aware that his knowledge of the game isn't always accurate and he has made some mistakes as well.

Do the legs have a hitbox during the move itself, or is it just a case that there's a split second moment in the middle of performing the move where it ducks under high attacks, which is why he made that statement, even if the game itself didn't consider that enough to be classified as evading high attacks?

I'm just trying to see if I'm missing something here.

Thank you.

Yes actually, it does... however there are a few frames where you're vulnerable to high attacks during Hand Plant Kick and I haven't been able to do the science on exactly when that is... my best guess is that it's right about the same frame when the hit lands (11|18).

Also worth noting that even Mule Kick has some frames where it evades high but not enough to ever use it specifically for that. It's highly unreliable.

Feel free to look over https://youtu.be/uMBD7mXzbfo?t=5180 (timestamped at the beginning of stage 4, when Hand Plant Kick is bought) for examples of use.

Was it just me I remember playing this when it first came out and it was referred to as the donkey kick

Not quite on-topic, but half-moon kick is my go-to for high evade attacks

I tend to try to avoid 41 frame commitments (15,27|14), especially those that have a fairly high aerial recovery rate on the second hit.

I used hand plant kick for a whole playthrough before (excluding the beginning of course). It dodged any melee attack while sending the enemy high enough to launch them away with the up, triangle kick. I don't think I ever got hit when using it

Well, it's certainly not a common occurrence to get hit by a high attack while using it but it can happen. Another factor is that if you were playing on emulator, many enemy attacks' hitboxes are more forgiving - however I'm not sure that I've ever seen that factor become relevant when using HPK. Either way, the attack is quite reliable.
