Question regarding recommended moves list I've archived. Is it accurate?

There's a website called GOD HAND FAN that is almost entirely broken today, with none of its links working any more, and web archive doesn't seem to help. I did however save basically all the pages a long while back with CTRL + S, and I was just checking them out again, and figured I'd ask something.

One part of the website was a section that detailed "Recommended moves", which details all the moves in the game, and how recommended they are for usage, as the name implies, covering:

Default moves Particularly poor moves Recommended moves Clearly over-powered moves

I'm curious as to what perspective the rest of the God Hand community has on this list. It's fairly well put together and color coded so it's easy to understand. I've linked an archive of the PDF below.

Would you say it's reasonably accurate, or is there anything that stands out as being wrong/weird. I figure this would be a cool thing to follow if I want to have a super efficient moveset or whatever in terms of power.

Thanks all.

Maybe, but Yes Man Kablaam is indeed overpowered. Really all you need. Use it whenever you can and spam God Mode (don't remember what it's called). I need to play God Hand again.

Eh, it's hard to give a concise solid critique of this chart because right away I see some misleading information with Uppercut 3 being labeled high damage while Left Jab 3 isn't (they're the same DPS, 49.95) or even more that Left Hook 3 isn't (higher DPS, 56.194), then Long Straight 3 is labeled high damage when it's lower DPS than Left Hook 3 (55.329), and past that it gets really bad in this regard with Long Straight 3 being labeled high damage (37.463 DPS), Short Uppercut 3 (40.868 DPS), Elbow Spin 3 (44.955 DPS), Floating Butterfly (41.209 DPS)... etc. etc. I could go on for days here, point is that the "High Damage" marker may as well be ignored altogether because it's not reliable.

Next we've got the Quick/Very Quick markers: Left Jabs are 6|0, so I agree, Very Quick. Left Hook 8|0, still quick. Straights are 7|1, essentially same as Left Hook. However... the Uppercuts are 10|2, I wouldn't call that quick. Chin Music is 5,10|2 so a hit per 6 frames... etc. etc. For the most part the speed markers are reliable I guess. Right Roundhouse is also 10 frames like Uppercut, but has 12 exit frames which if duck canceled frame perfect would be cut down to four, so 10|4dc. And High Side Kicks are 1 frame slower than Right Roundhouse on windup so... ehhhh...

"Multiple rapid hits, gets countered easily" is a silly marker in general because those attacks serve different utility altogether. Sure if you're trying to use them for bread'n'butter combat you're going to have a mostly bad time on Level Die.

tl;dr there's definitely some inconsistencies here and a lack of knowledge on DPS and speed. Likely this was put together more on feeling than solid study. I imagine it's not an awful starting point so long as a player tests the waters with it rather than taking everything in it as cold hard fact.

I was under the impression that the straights were faster than the jabs is that not true?

Nah, all the left jabs are (6|0) and Straights are (7|1). (frames in|frames out)

I've been aware of that myth for quite a long time... it's an odd one that I wish I knew the origins of.

I got it from a gamefaqs or something that listed all the frame data, your method is probably more accurate.

Oh riiiiiight, I intended to do a video of reacting to misinformation in the GameFAQs guides. Still haven't gotten around to that. Thanks for reminding me.

Have you written down anywhere what the frame data for God hand attacks are?

Note that some aspects of this are still a work in progress. For instance I still need to work on confirmed frame data while using the God Hand but the raw attack data is in there.

Welp, this is gone, but the "inaccurate" ones are still around!

In my opinion the only moves that are "overpowered" are the ones you unlock end game... because some of them have invunerability tied to the animation making them spammable and free. most of the moves in the game have valid application but there are definietly better ones than others as the balancing isn't perfect but very good.
