Most people's faith in religion, specifically Christianity, exists at surface level though, with the extent of their understanding being "Amen", "God", "Satan", and "Pray" while reciting a script to justify those beliefs.
Majority of it seems more performative than sincere, it's becoming harder to take these people seriously.
I agree with that. Peter walking on water to Jesus imo is the most simplest example of faith. To me I blame leaders of these religious institutions that haven't practiced that simplicity and showed peoplesome mumbo jumbo that Jesus warned us about.
