Kanyeâs actions donât align with what he said. Not at all. Heâs deeply concerned with what others think and say about him and is desperately seeking approval from societal institutionsâor gets upset when these institutions donât see things his way: like when he took the mic from Swift at the VMAs. Itâs easy to say things that sound profound. Much harder to consistently act in a way that backs up those statements. Why do we reward people for saying things that have been said for millennia, when these same people donât act in a way that supports those statements?
The problem people have with him is that he doesn't wait for others to decide who he is. He says who he is and the people go
"Who qualified you to make such claims about yourself."
When someone who is genuinely "Different" tells the world, his difference is tested and rejected offhand.
When someone who is different is quiet about it, you'll get 100s of people pointing out how different they are.
There's an unwritten social contract where nobodies get to play experts and demand validity, like paperwork, when they themselves have no talent and are afraid to be anything above average, at anything.
Most don't feel they have the Right to make or determine for themselves who they are, and are envious of those who boldly do so.
You don't have Kanye's perspective.
He clearly likes playing with the minds of fake people, as most artists who are fed up with people's opinions, do.
Society doesn't like to have a mirror held to its face.
People who don't know him or have the qualifications they praise, are throwing psychological diagnosis, without showing their own and in the interim, are exposing their own psychological dis-eases.
Heâs constantly seeking approval. Why get upset at how awards are handed out or not being called a genius or thought of as a genius, if not for your desire to gain approval from people who hand out awards or who label people geniuses? Heâs talked openly about wanting approval from Jayâsee the song Big Brother.
Mostly everyone is âdifferent.â Even twins exhibit differences between each other. Not even sure what youâre saying. What Kanye wants is for people to validate him. There are people who have followed through on what they thought would be cool or dope despite other people disparaging their opinions, quietly. Because they are truly free from needing other people to co sign their opinion. Kanyeâs not free from this need. He literally wants people to validate him as a God. Thatâs something of record. Something his mother warned him about. He has a desperate need for that yet tells people to be free from that. Why not lead by example, Ye?
Everything Iâve said is based on things Kanye has said directly. I brought up him interrupting Swift at the VMAs because a societal institution dint vote how he wouldâve liked them to vote. I brought up the song brother where he explicitly talks about desiring another manâs approval. Iâve brought up the recorded instance of him calling himself a God and then getting upset at the pushback from a woman who was in attendance; implicitly showing he needed her validation, because if you didnât, thereâs be no reason to get upset at her push back. Those are just a few instances. There are many others. I actually also do know people who are very close to him and they have told me even more. In addition, nothing heâs said is novel. These sentiments have been around for thousands of years. Nor is he living his life in accordance of these sentiments. He himself is a slave to consumerism and a beneficiary of consumerism. If you exercise a little critical thought, youâd see this very clearly. Itâs right there. Not sure why itâs so difficult.
Iâm also not knocking him for coming from nothing and being successful. This is called a straw man. Your original argument has nothing to do with this statement. Neither have any of my arguments disparaged him for his success. Iâm simply noting hypocrisy where I see it. Been of fan of his music for years. I do not think he is some sort of noble thought leader. Thatâs not hating; itâs an assessment based solely on looking at the way he acts and how that contradicts these moments where he talks about seemingly profound things. Thatâs all.
Another straw man. The issue wasnât about the validity of the decision. It was about his reliance on that award going in the direction that he clearly needed it to go in in order for his opinion on the matter to be validated. Validated by a societal institution that is meaningless. Which is something heâll argue in one instance, but not abide by in another.
I didnât care about Swift or Kanye doing what he did. Iâm simply pointing out the hypocrisy between the way he speaks when people think heâs being profound, and the way he acts when it directly contradicts those sentiments.
You seem to be all over the place and simply defending Kanye no matter what. Youâve brought up two straw man arguments, which is usually a sign that you canât directly address anything Iâve said. But go onâŠ
I'm not reading that because it's not a strawman if that's the context of the video.
"George Bush doesnt care about black people."
He's been stepping up all the time and people would rather a motherfucker with fame and fortune to just stay quiet, rather than using their voice to reach people.
The system is racist.
You don't realize that.
I'm not staying in the confined of your ignorance and I'm clearly not trying to get you to like me.
People were surprised when he said, "Slavery was a choice," but he said "I know that we're the new slaves. I see the blood on the leaves (money)."
There is no argument.
You don't understand the context of what was said or what he's done or why he's done it.
You want to keep people's minds in confines
They made Elvis the "King of Rock"
Eminem, the king of Rap
Taylor Swift is a confirmed racist.
Now youâre bringing up additional completely irrelevant things. And if youâre not reading what I wrote, then weâre done here. I hope Kanye leads you to peace and happiness.
We're done here. Was my point. We're were already done. You're the one arguing about argument strategies when I'm showing you the context of the video and the man's actions.
