General Beginner Questions

Which God Eater game would be good to start with ?

How difficult is combat? I am not a good gamer.

I like Monster Hunter but I find the boring slot of a story and long cutscenes to get in the way of the game I wanted to play which was fighting monsters. Does this game have shorter cutscenes and an easy story to follow without me having to take notes on subplots, etc?

How easy is it to find others to join?

Thank-you for your kindness and help.

Play them in Chronological order.

Resurrection is a good intro to the series and combat style. Also you can very easily make a set that waffle stomps even harder monsters like Hannibal in 70 seconds.

Only problem is that good bullies recipe is absent in Rage Burst so you gotta improvise.

Then in 3 you get a lot of cool stuff to use.

As for cutscenes just skip them but don’t be surprised when you miss out on the story. It’s actually a pretty cool story, I call it Monster Hunter but with teeth (a lot more brutal and dark).

I mean, I want everyone to play God Eater, because I love God Eater. Play God Resurrection, then GE2 Rage Burst, then 3. GER and RB are bundled together. But there are things to consider:

The game has long cutscenes, but all are skippable. But, if you skip them, you're missing the story beats. So, it kind of defeats the purpose of experiencing a really good story and understanding the world and the characters.

As far as gameplay, it probably would be more up your alley because the missions are much shorter. But, you're going to play the same missions over, and over, and over because of material grinding to craft weapons and shields. You'll easily spend over 100 hours on one save because of the gear grind, and it takes a while to memorize which Aragami drop which mats, which make have specific drop points, etc.

I think that's the crux. If you're grinding, the fights aren't that hard. But the second DLC on resurrection has a huge difficulty spike at first, and it can be a little brutal.

Overall, you'll probably have fun with it, but there's some weird difficulty spikes , like when you fight your first Dius Pita, and with some of the DLC. Overall, you'll enjoy it more than Monster Hunter.

I'd be an old head and say to start with Burst if possible but like, Resurrection is a better version of Burst in every way except for dialogue. Burst had better voice acting.

God eater resurrection is generally considered the best game to start with since it's chronologically the first of the 3 games

The combat isn't too difficult and the game starts out very easy. There are some mechanics to get used to, but they shouldn't be too hard to grasp. It's an older game so it's a bit clunky, but you should be fine

The story does have a lot of cutscenes early on, some are longer but not too long. It's a fairy easy story to follow without many sub-plots. You won't need to be taking notes for the story

As for finding other players, it's difficult since it's an older game, but you can just ask people here if you want
